I just bought two Booyah Blades in 1/4oz and fished one for the first time yesterday. After losing a BPS spinnerbait, I put on a Blade with a 4" Mister Twister white trailer and caught two fish immediately. The first one on it went about 15", but the second went about 11". After I unhooked him, I looked at my bait, the willow blade, swivel and split ring to attach those to the frame were all gone. I figure a spinnerbait should last more than two fish so I emailed Booyah to see what they say about it. This is frustrating. Have you experienced this?

I bought a Booyah spinnerbait one time, and I had the same issue. I havent even looked anything Booyah since, its way too many bait companies out there who put out quality stuff to mess around with junk IMHO...

I have some booyah frogs, jigs, and buzzbaits. Haven't had any problems out of them, I can't comment on the spinnerbaits as I haven't tried them.

What baits would you recommend? I have War Eagle available relatively locally.

My three favorites are War Eagle, Stanley, and Terminator. Terminator lasts the longest for me.

I don´t know about now because it´s been ages since I purchased a spinnerbait, my favorite brand has been Strike King and I haven´t purchased in ages for a good reason don´t you think ? actually the 4 or 5 spinnerbaits I fish the most have been with me for maybe 20 years or so, the only thing I´ve done is change the skirts.

War Eagle makes a good spinnerbait, I'd avoid the extreme trokar, just because I don't like trokar hooks, but their other spinnerbaits are great.

To the OP what line were you using?

The reason I ask this is because I primarily use Booyah spinnerbaits, and I had a season in where I lost several booyah SB. Around the same time I switched to braid as my main line for all my outfits. As an experiment I switched back to copoly for my SB applications and the problem went away.

I was using P-Line CX 10lb. Ive not had this issue with any other baits. I'm looking to grab a few new baits next weekend when I run to town next.

War Eagle makes great spinnerbaits.  Mostly what I use.

I have a booyah pikee spinnerbait that is quality, thick wire with twisted eye, has caught many bass.

the little 3/16 pond magic spinnerbaits are really nice. Sharp hooks, nice swivels, good paint. I used the night model with the big single Colorado and had nothing but problems, though. I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was something to do with shoddy split rings.

Yeah, the little pond magic spinnerbait is the only Booyah one I have and I like it quite a bit, never had a problem.

Did the blade arm actually break, or did the wire bend out, or the split ring fail?

I've had that happen with a cheaper luck E strike spinnerbait before, The curve at the bottom wasn't closed all the way and It fell off just when casting. I don't fish spinnerbaits too often, I havent bought one in a long time, my favorite I have ever purchased was a Peppers baits Spinnerbait. They have a great hook, top of the line components, are the perfect size, and most importantly do not have an overly long arm.

My problem with SB's is mostly keeping skirts on them. They just aren't made like they used to be. Where I fish most of the time, SB is not an everyday bait. It seems that every time I really start catching them on it, the skirts fall off. Same with buzzbaits. And replacement skirts seem to be even lower quality.

I had the same problem with Stanley wedge spinner baits. They caught a ton of fish but were too fragile.

I love venom Lures hidden head. Been fishing the same one all year. These seem to balance better than any other brand I've tried for a slow roll approach (can still burn like any other spinner).

Full disclosure: I've never tried this ever popular war eagle. I'm gonna grab a couple to try myself.

Mann's classic twin Indiana gold blades in white for clear to slightly stained water and chartruese for darker water.

The mister twister 4" split double tail trailer is a killer with a trailer hook. I've never used another trailer that had this lifelike swimming action. I do trim the length of the grubs body so it fits the length of the shorter hooks.

Plus the smaller 1/8, 3/16, 1/4oz spinnerbaits in some cases seem balanced better. The 4" split double tail grub adds a wider more full body look to the spinnerbaits.

The Mann's spinnerbaits were called the Hank Parker Classic spinnerbaits but now there just called classic spinnerbaits.

Booyah and Terminator are both serial offenders of the same crime in my boat. I've watched so many blades fly off of both when a fish jumps that I don't buy either anymore.

It happens all the time. Call/email them they will send you replacement. It is how the bend the wire to attach the split ring, cannot argue too much they catch fish and have nice blades. Best bang for buck spinnerbait on the market.

I'm a war eagle fan myself although the wire they use does break often but not as often as booyah they are the worst I've found when it comes to this. They do catch fish though so there's the trade off

I emailed them as soon as I got home and opened a Bob's '47 for my liquid refreshment. I'm awaiting a response.

Never used a Booyah spinnerbait but Ihave had worse happen with others . Most recently A Storm Spin Shad . It was catching fish like mad and then one came off. The wire broke and all I had left was a piece of wire and the blade .
