Hair jigs are thread tied.

Living rubber are wire tied.

Silicone are rubber collars to initially make then and a 3" narrow (3/32) black nylon cable Ty to lock it down onto the jig.

Wire can cut silicone skirt strips.

I wire tie all mine. It takes about the same amount of time to tie a skirt as it does to band one and it last so much longer (not that I ever get to keep a jig very long).

I only use wire-tied nowadays.

I catch a lot of small to mid-sized northern pike on jigs, and their teeth cut through those rubber bands in no time.

I can zip-tie faster than y'all can get your wire out

I use both I guess. I am not sped picky about it really. There are wire tied and there are ones held with bands. There are also interchangeable ones with colars. I do like some collared skirts but it depends. There are different levels on quality on those for sure. For example the skirts that come on a zman chatterbait only have one layer of skirt and are very thin. Now the collared ones I get from my local shop have as much skirt material as you could ever want and are very nicely put together. They are also like $1 each or 5 for $4 for them but they have tons of great color patterns there and you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

I have rubber collars because when I was bank fishing I would lose a lot of jigs so it didn't make sense to spend the extra money for wire tied , but now that I'm on the water in my yak I can retrieve my jigs if they get stuck 100 percent of the time so far. I will be going to wire tie over the winter.

Or maybe I'll stay collared...

Not picky. I've caught toads on the Walmart specials.

Ran out before, Toledo Tackle was closed ran to Walmart in Jasper; continued to kill em!

Whatever works best for me is what I use. Typically the cheaper the better.

Color matters most to me.   I fish Revenge and Skinny Bear Jigs. They are both great jigs.  One is hand tied the other is not... I have equal confidence in both.

i like a simple arkie rattle band jig i normally zip tie the band on them and there good to go

Band rot drives me up the wall, I've had to buy mini zip ties to lock down jigs(and spinnerbaits/chatterbaits) with band rot.  I always try to buy hand tied now (Cooch's TnT Wadda Jigs!).
