Super User Sam Posted September 16, 2015 Super User Posted September 16, 2015 Days getting shorter. Water temps dropping. Hurricane season has two months to go. Changing from summer to fall baits. Thinking about what I want for Christmas. Thinking what I will give my wife for Christmas. Making plans for the turkey fry and pig roast at my house for the LSU-Alabama game and having over 100 people show up during the day. Watching NASCAR's "Chase" and pulling for Johnson and Edwards but really like all of the 16 guys in the Chase. Football Thanksgiving and my famous Paul Prudhomme's Oyster Dressing which is out of this world. Getting sweatshirts and jeans out of storage and putting tees and shorts away, Making plans to clean the attic for its annual cleaning. Not having to water the lawn or cut the field once it gets cold. Thinking of my last two fishing tournaments. Thinking of how to rearrange tackle over the winter months. Looking forward to the BPS Thanksgiving sale and replacing one rod and reel that went overboard earlier this month. Another story for another time. Finding all of the Christmas decorations my wife wants to put out and bringing them downstairs. Considering putting a protective cup on my wife's "tea cup" Christmas tree without getting caught. Talking with my wife on what food items we need to stock up on if we lose electricity, which we always do sometime during an ice or snow storm. Taking a ride into the country to see the beautiful fall leaf colors. College football bowl games and the four-team playoff at the end of the season. The World Series. Stripping all line off all reels. Washing rods in shower. Reading the fishing articles I have stored in the computer during cold, dark days. Watching various DVDs and other bass fishing videos. Losing another 10 pounds (lost 16 so far) and being able to see my feet once again. Losing those last 10 pounds so I won't be a "dickie-do." Seeing happy grandchildren faces when they open their Christmas presents. That's it for now. Everyone add what they look forward to in the fall 1 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted September 16, 2015 Super User Posted September 16, 2015 Jet ski's are Gone. Boat Docks slowly start to disappear. The Pontoon Parade that circles the perimeter of many lakes at sunset vanishes. And the sound of gunshots echo through the woods and across the lakes. Does Mustang make a Kevlar model ? A-Jay 2 Quote

Super User Ratherbfishing Posted September 18, 2015 Super User Posted September 18, 2015 "Tourons go home" being repeated wasn't missed by me. : ) Hmmm...let's see.... *The pleasant odor of the furnace when it first kicks on *Combines sending dust in the air as they harvest field corn and, later, soybeans-and the glowing orange sunsets which occur because of it *The semi's and grain wagons which line the end rows of farm fields *The buzzing and popping of grasshoppers and other bugs on dry leaves *Pumpkins and gourds displayed prominantly on straw bales and on the front steps of homes *Contemplating life while watching leaves drift lazily to the ground *Gunshots echoing through the woods *Trying on long sleeve shirts you almost forgot you had *Paper ghosts, jack-o-lanterns, bats, skeletons, etc. taped on school windows *Standing under a glowing orange, red, or yellow sweetgum or maple tree and feeling like you've been swallowed up by a hot air balloon *bright red sumac bushes lining the roadsides. *Rotting black walnut hulls permeating the crisp air Quote

Miss them already Fruit trees are naked the bear and deer ate the fruit No more fresh veggies. The three tamed feral cats are in at night. The bobcat is around.
