You won't think that's funny 20 years from now young man. Now go to your room!

Thankfully I have a boy so I have a Dock Demon instead of Barbie.

You have to use them as leverage though. "I'm buying this because it's cheap now so he'll have his own stuff when he gets old enough". It rarely works but I'll keep using it.

lol

It's what the little dude is wielding in my avatar  :eyebrows:  He get's pretty pumped up whenever I get it out for him to play with, hopefully he'll keep that enthusiasm once he gets old enough to take the stuffed dog toy off and put a hook on

Dude you're killin me! LMAO!! stuffed dog... That's so cool. I miss those days greatly. It's good you are getting so much on vid. I had a 15lb VHS you hoisted on your shoulder when my boys were young. (you keep quiet Kyle...too much to explain) so I didn't get too much of their catches on tape.

Have fun with that young man. He has a great role model.

I always buy my children fishing stuff I would use, so I can use it when they are tired of fishing and go off to play elsewhere.  Just the other day I asked my 9 year old if I could borrow some Zoom  shaky head worms that I bought him and he said sure.

Totally agree. If I was single I could certainly see myself spending a much larger portion of my income on unnecessarily expensive gear. Thank god I have somebody to help keep things in perspective. I want Power Poles but I need a minivan.

Anyone see that episode of the Office where Oscar is going through Michael's finances?..

Oscar: "This scary black bar is what you spend on things that no one ever, ever needs, like multiple magic sets, professional bass fishing equipment."

I know this all too well...lol. My wife "likes" fishing when she thinks she's guaranteed to catch something (that's why they call it fishing and not catching honey...want guarantee's, go to the supermarket) but she definitely thinks I spend too much on fishing tackle, rods, reels etc. :tsk-tsk:  and we're pretty much just starting out (just got back into fishing a couple of years ago) but if she see's a shoe sale or if there's a fancy new Apple watch or electronic gadget coming out we're all over that  :rolleyes7: . I have to get my 4 year old son (going to be 5 in November) a Dock Demon, bought him one of those kids rods (Spiderman) but that didn't last too long, those Dock Demons look a little more rugged.

Barbie fishing rod setup?

With fishing lures what I buy, I buy extra for my son's, there spouses and grandchildren. Fishing reels / rods too.

Almost fourty years ago as my son's were born I purchased them hunting rifles and shotguns. They weren't one month old.
