j2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Hello and thanks in advance for any ideas! I have been working on this one for a while now, so I thought that I would put it out on the forum to get some new ideas. I fish for bass in a lake that has a lot of walleye, and I feel that the fish are a bit line shy so I usually run 6-8lb floro, and I get bit off a lot by walleye. So I went on a search for the thinnest leader that I could buy, and found this titanium single strand leader called "Knot 2 Kinky", it is pretty nice stuff, super thin and relatively flexible, BUT it is a pain in the butt to tie to the lure! Anyone use this stuff or have experience tying titanium leader? Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted September 14, 2015 Super User Posted September 14, 2015 Took a fishing trip to WI back in June. I bought some of the same stuff in anticipation. "Knottable", my rear end. I ended up knot using it at all. Used 12# Yo-Zuri Hybrid for leaders and never lost a fish due...at least none due to teeth. 1 Quote
Super User Scott F Posted September 14, 2015 Super User Posted September 14, 2015 There are other tieable wires out there that are MUCH more reliable than titanium. Titanium won't kink but it does break. Don't use the titanium. Quote

Super User Scott F Posted September 16, 2015 Super User Posted September 16, 2015 Tyger wire or American Fishing Wire Surflon. 1 Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted September 16, 2015 Super User Posted September 16, 2015 Before I sold off all my muskie gear, I had a 2' piece of Tyger wire tied to every bait with a swivel on the other end. Made changing baits easy. Snip the braid from the swivel, tie onto the swivel on the new bait, wrapped the wire around the old bait and stow it away. I used a 1 1/2 turn clinch knot to tie the wire to the bait and the swivel. Never had one come loose. 1 Quote
