Super User roadwarrior Posted January 10, 2016 Super User Posted January 10, 2016 Bad day for Cincinnati, terrible day for the NFL. There are limits and the line was crossed, not just by the team or specific perps, but the behavior of the crowd was despicable. After watching  New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. lay a dangerous, helmet-to-helmet hit on Josh Norman I just could not believe the NFL's lack of response during that game. Things were completely out of control and the NFL was MIA. And then yesterday...  2 Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted January 10, 2016 Super User Posted January 10, 2016 The Refs lost control early, that was the worst display i ever seen. There lucky nobody really got hurt. But i thought A J did a great job for as young as he is.He keeps playing like that he has a bright future. Quote
smallies24/7 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Burfict has been a thug and a dirty player since I watched him at ASU, and I had a feeling it would carry into the NFL. Its disgusting how he would intentionally try to hurt players, and he should be handed a LENGTHY suspension. But its just another issue for the NFL to brush off... Smh. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted January 10, 2016 Author Super User Posted January 10, 2016 Ugh. My sister and her family are in town so I cant watch the sea vs min game  . Hope SEA pulls this off. Sea ve Car will be awesome. Quote

Missourifishin Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Anyone remember the movie Ace Ventura Pet Detective? "Laces out". I can't believe he missed that kick though. I personally would have liked to see Seattle lose (sorry Seahawks fans) Quote

VolFan Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 It's Christmas in January for the donkeys. To be fair I thought Shazier's hit on Bernard was way worse than the Burfect one at the end. Crown of the helmet high into the face. Burfect went with the shoulder, and the receiver ducked right into it; really really unfortunate, but I don't think he was actually trying to hit him in the head. laces out! Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 11, 2016 Super User Posted January 11, 2016 Like i said before, the skins are the least crappy of the crappy teams in the NFC East and are being exposed by a good team. Reed is dropping balls left and right (he is the best player on the team though), Mesean Jackson is a ghost, like always in the playoffs and the defense is getting trashed straight up the gut. The skins are not a good team plain and simple. Â Now off to an exciting offseason for the entire NFC east... 1 Quote

I don't want him in Philly.  He couldn't beat Philly but he is a disciplinarian type of coach which this team might need.  He does have a winning pedigree though so i guess we will see what happens.  I really don't think the Eagles are as far off as their record indicated.  They had some decent wins this year and i do think that the defense is much better than they played but the high tempo offense, when not successful, wears on the defense over the course of a season.  I mean they defended basically an extra game this season.  Every team in the NFC east has a lot of big decisions to make all the way from coaches to major player movements.  should be interesting . Super User Sam Posted January 11, 2016 Super User Posted January 11, 2016 Football is a vicious sport. On all levels, from the beginners leagues through middle and high school and then with high levels of speed in college and faster speed in the pro ranks a player will be injured during their playing time. It comes with the game. When you have men hitting each other time and time and time again, it brings out the hostile side of someone whose livelihood depends on a child's game. Retaliations are normal and expected. Getting even is a thought process. Playing as dirty as you can without getting caught is an art. Pushing the limits of the rules is something all players in the NFL do on a regular basis. But us fans love it. We get a vicarious thrill watching teams we do not like lose games and players we despise get injured or cause their teams to lose. That's football and it will always be football on all levels. Now, after that pontification I must add that my predictions of this weekend's winners was 100% correct. Will be some interesting games next weekend when the big boys show up to play the "wannabees." Its not "What's in your wallet." Its "Who do you want to get hurt?" Answer: Anyone on any team your favorite team is playing.  Quote
Super User Darren. Posted January 11, 2016 Super User Posted January 11, 2016 Welp... I was 1-3 in my weekend predictions. Bengals should have won were it not for the insanity at the end. Stupidity at it's most stupid. And wow, I thought the Vike's would pull it off. A reminder of a wide-right attempt back in the early 90's by Mr. S. Norwood. Though not nearly as devastating. And thought the 'Skins would bust the Cheese Heads. But the '14-15 MVP showed up. Quote

Derekbass02 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Closer than an extra point. How did he miss that? At least the Packers beat the Redskins by 17. My predictions for next weeks games are, Steelers beat Broncos, Patriots beat Chiefs, Panthers beat Seahawks, and Packers beat Cardinals. Quote

A-Jay I'm sure they would love to but there aren't enough QB 1's out there for every team to have one, let alone two. 2 Quote

There are plenty to go around - and it's more of a culture change than anything else. When the first team make a commitment to it, and I mean an all out plan. One that includes playing them both interchangeably every game - all season. And when the advantages & their successes become apparent, there rest of the heard will undoubtedly follow. And as fan, I want my team to do this - so that when the inevitable QG injury happens - there's a completely capable human right there to take the helm and help keep the ship on course. Why does Quarterback Depth have to mean - one guy who can play and one guy who can't. What's wrong with two QB's who can both play. There's no need for a #1 ~ I'm betting that a Two #1's would work better. A-Jay 2 Quote

A-Jay I don't know, I just think it's hard enough to find one competent QB and some teams look for years.  It might work for a year or 2 in the right set circumstances but 1 of your QB's would get paid to leave and go be the starter somewhere else.  With the salary cap I'm sure it would be next to impossible to pay 2 QB 1's and have much left for other positions. All that said, QB injury helped kill my team's season, so I'm all for 2 good players at that position.  I'm hoping they draft a QB early, if there's one they like. Quote

A-Jay NASCAR fields 43 cars, but only 10 - 15 are in the hunt, the rest are just filler. There are 32 teams in the league. How many "NFL Quality" quarterbacks are there? Maybe 20? http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 11, 2016 Global Moderator Posted January 11, 2016 I would say that 20 is probably a stretch if you're saying 20 NFL starter quality QB's. Quote
