Super User K_Mac Posted November 28, 2015 Super User Posted November 28, 2015 Nobody said anything about winning at any cost. That is funny. It is very clear here that winning it all is the only acceptable outcome. That is why bad behavior is tolerated, even celebrated. You can't have it both ways. Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted November 28, 2015 Super User Posted November 28, 2015 You play to win championships at any level. There is no participation trophy in the NFL...you don't produce you don't play. Sure you can only do so much with the talent you have available but the season is not a 100% success unless you have a parade. 1 Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted November 28, 2015 Author Super User Posted November 28, 2015 Isn't the goal to achieve the most with the talent available? No...this is the highest level of competition for football. The goal for every team each season isn't to be mediocre, it's to win it all. Teams don't come out week 1 and just say "let's do our best guys and just shoot for .500". This isn't JV football...these guys play to win because they love the game. In spite of the leagues attempts at parity, there are more teams that making the playoffs would be a minor victory than teams with a realistic shot at the championship. Minor victory..sure. But it's minor at best to make the playoffs and not advance. You play to win. Anybody can win on any given day and every team knows that which is why they go into a playoff game not with the notion "well we made this far, losing is okay.." but to win.... I don't understand why getting beaten by a better team is somehow a total failure. Again...these guys don't play to lose. This isn't a hard concept. Anything less than a victory to these guys is unacceptable. This is their job and livelihood and they want to be the best. I don't really know another way to put it. Nobody in the NFL wants a participation trophy. The idea that winning at any cost is the only acceptable outcome represents everything that is wrong with professional sports in general, and the NFL in particular in my opinion. Absolutely nobody in here is promoting "winning at all costs". I have no idea where you got that from but you can take your tin foil hat off on that one..... 1 Quote

With the news Chip is keeping his job next year, what are the odds he goes after Kaepernick full force? Quote

He has at least one more year.....as far as kap goes who knows....he is still under contract and kelly would be dumb to go for him unless he is released but Kap's contract is pretty team friendly. He chose Butt Fumble, which means he'll probably grab some north pacific college fresh boy or try to tap a weak retired nfl qb Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted November 28, 2015 Super User Posted November 28, 2015 Sanchez isn't a bad backup at all.... Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted November 28, 2015 Super User Posted November 28, 2015 You guys are funny! I am going to go change hats...this tin foil one isn't all that comfortable. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted November 28, 2015 Super User Posted November 28, 2015 Sanchez isn't a bad backup at all.... Only when you have a 21 point lead on the other team and there's 4 minutes left on the clock Quote
Super User tomustang Posted November 28, 2015 Super User Posted November 28, 2015 This use to be my signature on other forums during football season I'd take it out but I don't have enough drive to care much, it's not like it was years ago Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted November 28, 2015 Super User Posted November 28, 2015 most teams would be ecstatic to go 4-4 with a backup like he did last season.....look at the cowboys record with a backup this year.... Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted November 28, 2015 Author Super User Posted November 28, 2015 Amendola not traveling /w the team to DEN. Best case scenario for Denver there. This will be a super test for seeing what NE can come up with vs a monster defense. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted November 28, 2015 Super User Posted November 28, 2015 Amendola not traveling /w the team to DEN. Best case scenario for Denver there. This will be a super test for seeing what NE can come up with vs a monster defense. AND . . . "As if toppling the unbeaten New England Patriots wasn't already a difficult task on its own, the Denver Broncos will have to do it in the face of frigid temperatures and piling snow. In what will be the coldest game of the 2015 season thus far, the National Weather Service expects temperatures in the Denver area to dip near 16 degrees with a 70 percent chance of snow. The Denver area has already picked up close to six inches of snow in some places and the NWS expects up to three more inches of snow to start falling Sunday night. Denver is fielding an untested Brock Osweiler against the reigning champs and Tom Brady. But if the weather holds up as expected, don't count on either quarterback throwing the ball very much. This could very well come down to a run and defense heavy matchup." On a separate note - I'd be very happy with a Pats Loss here as long as no one else ends up riding off the field on the Gumby Cart ! A-Jay Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted November 29, 2015 Author Super User Posted November 29, 2015 ATL is a really bad football team....but still atop the WC /w GB.. I didn't watch any of the NYG vs WSH game but how on earth was it 20-0 in the 4th? Was Eli that bad? NO sucks. Jeff Fisher is really good at going 8-8 1 Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted November 30, 2015 Super User Posted November 30, 2015 Looking like them Bronco's might just get broke in and saddled by the Pats......14-0 so far......hmmmm 1 Quote
smallies24/7 Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Down goes Gronk.... Man I hate to see that. One of the most respected players in the league, And one I am a big fan of, even if I cant stand the team he is on. Hope its not too serious... Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted November 30, 2015 Author Super User Posted November 30, 2015 What...a....game! Denver earned that win. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 30, 2015 Super User Posted November 30, 2015 Looking like them Bronco's might just get broke in and saddled by the Pats......14-0 so far......hmmmm Yep, it looked like the Broncos didn't have a chance. I hope Gronkowski will be able to return. He seems to be a solid citizen and one of the best tight ends to have ever played the game. Quote

Denver capitalized on mistakes and the Pat's took away game changing plays with penalties. But hey, that first lose is in the books. It was a great game none the less. Quote
