Jd_Phillips_Fishin Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 My predictions for this week Patriots Broncos Cardinals Seahawks I hope my last one is right. This, "Panthers will win the SB" thing thats going on out here is getting old. They only played 2 good teams. Packers when they only had half their secondary and they got lucky against Seattle. Then they nearly lost against bad teams like 22-27 against the Saints, 26-29 against the Colts, 38-41 again against the Saints, 35-38 against the Giants, then they finally lost against Atlanta. This team's record is deceiving. Their true colors will show this week or the next against Arizona. But there aint no way they win the SB 1 Quote

That relationship is built out of repetition. The more they get, theoretically, the better it gets. Perhaps once they spread that theory out over the two pass throwers on the team the other players can establish an effective situation as well. Comparing players of different positions might not translate in the mind of us non-players. While the media, which includes a decent population of non & ex-players, has always contended that this would never work I'm going to stay stead fast in my own belief that it could. I definitely see the need & benefits to having two Game ready & tested QB's especially considering the percentage of starting QB's injured each season. As for finding 32 clones, as it refers to my team, we'd only need to find two. And now I've said about all I can on this one, so I'm done. Thank you for allowing me to dream a little. A-Jay 1972 Miami Dolphins Bob Griese went out week 5 & returned for the playoffs Earl Morrall filled in between Results the only perfect season! 1 Quote
Brocephus Fishing Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Possible rematch of Super Bowl XLII Cardinals vs. Steelers? That's what I'm feeling. Please, anyone but the Panthers or Deflatriots. Would like to see Manning exit on top though. Quote

You seem to have been there during the entire situation, got in on some real, hard, factual information, or believe everything you saw or read on ESPN, NFL Network, or whatever other media source you could find. No, allegations do not faze me when there has been virtually nothing reported since the end of December, much less any factual evidence brought forth since it was reported, unless of course you consider he said she said mumbo jumbo to be factual. Plus that's just it, THEY'RE ALLEGATIONS. Would be a shame to see the career of one of the greatest and classiest football players of al time come to an end and he's largely remembered for an injury plagued last fews years, throwing dying ducks down field, and recent allegations instead of on a higher note. 2 Quote

Oh yeah..it was for his pregnant wife, who cant take hgh. OH DANG ALMOST FORGOT, If I'm not mistaken, Manning's children were born in the early part of 2011. While I completely understand that a pregnant woman can not use HGH, if the children were born early 2011 then Manning's wife could've used HGH later in the year for whatever reason ... recover from something involving the pregnancy ... IDK ... HGH is a drug that can be used by itself to promote healing. The reported ALLEGATIONS were for 2011, no date given. I tend to like to have any FACTS straight and try to view any possible sides of a story before allowing something to FAZE me. Again if you were there during the entire situation or got in on some real, hard, factual information, please enlighten us all. A provided date in 2011, if there was in fact HGH delivered to his house, would be wonderful. I sure would like to piece this together more so I can continue to see all sides of the story, as well as develop my own opinions. Quote

I use the common sense approach...media is bought and sold in this country so I pay no attention to them. The man admitted that hgh was delivered to his house, so thats a fact. The other fact is it was during his rehab for a potentially career ending injury...now my common sense tells me that perhaps the hgh was used by him to recover and throw 55 tds the ensuing season..then again his pregnant wife could have risked her pregnancy to take it as well...just the facts. Super User deaknh03 Posted January 16, 2016 Super User Posted January 16, 2016 and I believe the pressure in the balls, and using hgh doesn't matter..I think these guys should be able to use hgh to save their careers, and that .5 psi doesn't make a difference. 1 Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted January 16, 2016 Super User Posted January 16, 2016 and one last fact..hgh wasn't prohibited by the nfl in 2011..when peyton was rehabbing and his wife had deliveries to the house, but when it did get prohibited his stats fell off dramatically. Quote

When exactly was it delivered to his house? Common sense tells me to ask these questions. Or really, it could have something to do with his wife recovering after child birth (since we don't know when in 2011 it was delivered ... please share a date when it was delivered to his house so I can clear that up ...). Common sense tells me to ask questions about that. Also, that stems from an inquiring mind and the desire to see different sides of a story until I have a solid foundation for which to discuss things on or actual, proven, detailed, fact is given. Also, it stems from not being partial to this or that team or hating one team or another which would cloud my perception. I don't know anymore than this as fact ... Manning went public about the allegation, didn't deny HGH being delivered, but was irate that someone accused him of using it. Tells me that, depending on the still unknown actual date, that his wife could have actually used it and he doesn't want everyone and their brother to know the reason, especially if it involved post pregnancy complications. Also, another fact ... 55 TDs for Manning came in 2013, not the ensuing 2012 season (I'm assuming you meant the season after 2011 when you said ensuing). 2 minutes ago, deaknh03 said: and I believe the pressure in the balls, and using hgh doesn't matter..I think these guys should be able to use hgh to save their careers, and that .5 psi doesn't make a difference. .5 psi ... interesting comment seeing it hasn't been mentioned until this point ... Patriots fan??? Truly pure HGH, not mixed with anything else, should be allowed for recovery, as should a difference in PSI depending on air temperature ... However, there are rules written for both. 1 minute ago, deaknh03 said: and one last fact..hgh wasn't prohibited by the nfl in 2011..when peyton was rehabbing and his wife had deliveries to the house, but when it did get prohibited his stats fell off dramatically. Ummm, HGH was reportedly banned by the NFL in 2011 which means it was prohibited that year ... However, in good 'ol NFL fashion they didn't begin testing it strictly until around 2014. Age can be a factor for a decline in performance. Trying to throw a football at near 40 after you've done it for 25+ years (18 in the NFL) is not easy. Yet Manning has continued to perform at a high level. Since we're on declining stats ... 2011 = HGH prohibited ... Manning didn't play in 2011, 37 TDs in 2012 (2nd most for a season in his career at that time), 55 TDs in 2013 (most in his career), 39 TDs in 2014 (now 3rd most in a season for his career), and 9 TDs this past year when he was injured the majority of the time. Please explain how his stats fell dramatically or much less declined since the 2011 HGH ban ... 2015 foot injury season that kept him out for the majority of a season is not a valid season in the discussion Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted January 16, 2016 Super User Posted January 16, 2016 too much of this for mannings story to pass the common sense test. Quote
Brocephus Fishing Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Comparing Manning to Palmeiro and MLBs past steroid problems? Really? Not even close to dealing with the same type of person. Manning = class, Palmeiro = well I could go numerous directions.I get what you're saying and all when it comes to "your" common sense test ... but there's really no comparison between the situations. I can go on and on and on about the steroid situation in baseball ... Bonds, Clemens, Palmeiro, etc., because THERE WAS ACTUAL HARD EVIDENCE not just ALLEGATIONS, but since this is a Super Bowl thread I won't. GO SUPER BOWL!!! May it be entertaining and not include teams named after big cats or deflated balls. My time here is done ... back to the fishing forums. Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted January 16, 2016 Author Super User Posted January 16, 2016 4-0 last week! This weeks picks: Patriots-As long as Hightower and Collins play, this should be a cakewalk for NE. Cardinals-Duh Panthers-Could go either way but I have to take the team that has had 2 weeks prep in warm weather vs a team that took a beating in -3 degree weather last week and has to travel. Broncos-Hobbled Big Ben + no Brown/Bell/Williams Quote

It happened in the first half, they got blown out in the second half. It was a closer game in the fist half too. Maybe they should complain and make NE play with deflated footballs since they didn't score as many points with those balls. Either way, the game between KC and NE will determine the AFC championship. There isn't a hotter team in the AFC then the Chiefs, but NE looks to be getting back most of their missing players and will they haven't had consistantly since Week 10. Quote

Don't think it will be a blowout regardless of who gets the W. I'm expecting a tight game. Would love the W for my town. The magic had been flowing since our boys in blue brought home the WS. Would love to see the Chiefs bring home at least the championship. Quote
