I want to get a new spinning rod for next season for less than 100$. I was looking at the Abu Garcia vendetta and the Fenwick hmx both in 6'6 medium action. If you have any experience with any of these rods or think I should choose something else please let me know. Also this rod would be an overall use rod

I've used the vendetta, I also still have 3 Veritas rods. I think the small jump in the line is more than justified. They retail at $100 bit if you're open to shopping online they're available at $80 new all day every day on ebay.

Check out the St Croix Premier. I have a 7' model. It's around $110 - 120.

I have many that are a lot more expensive but this one is my favorite.

St Croix had their Rage series on clearance for 89 plus free shipping in their bargain room online. If you like the looks of the handle its likely one of the best blanks available under 100 right now, and one heck of a bargain. You also get the backing of a great company. The Rage use the same materials in their blank construction as the Avids.

St Croix Premier 6'6" Medium Fast. This was my favorite rod until I upgraded to an LTB.

Agree completely. This is an amazing rod!

Not sure if you have a certain use for this rod but if you were loooking for a spinner bait or a worm rod walmart sells a wright and mcgill insight pro for $50. It is a steal. Wright and mcgill makes skeet resses signature series rod so they are no joke. Just kind of an under the radar rod not a lot of people pay any mind to.

Aside from the yellow color I find them much like an Ugly Stick. Heavy and unbalanced.

Fwiw the insights are a lightweight rod that is decent at $50 but a very brittle rod. I would stay away unless its a spinmi g version for finesse fishing. The yellow skeet Reese rods are garbage. I've seen tons of them break 1/3 way from the tip.

I saw a guy returning one of those to dicks the other day with a broken tip. I hear a lot of them break like that. A friend of mine has had the flipping stick for 2+ yrs and it's still going strong. He likes it.

I have a St. Croix Premier spinning rod. Love it. I also have a St. Croix Triumph 8-weight fly rod, and really like it as well. Hard to beat St. Croix.

Is that great news for the HMG or terrible news for the Aetos? Incidentally, a guy on eBay is selling two new Aetos rods, one ML, one M, for $190 for the pair.
