Super User slonezp Posted September 11, 2015 Super User Posted September 11, 2015 About a month ago my boy calls me up and tells me about a charity tournament being hosted at the marina that has worked on my boats the last 20 years, on the lake my son lives on. "Dad, It's only $1500 to enter" I about died from laughing. He said he was going to buy tickets to the weigh in. I told him to go talk to the guys at Wauconda Boat. They were hosting it and know us well. My son even worked there when he was 16. This past Wednesday he calls me sounding like a kid in a candy store. The marina called him and told him to be there at 5am this morning. He took the day off work and volunteered his time working security. He said all the fishermen were extremely nice and friendly. Zona was telling goofy stories. My son ran home for lunch, he lives right on the lake. Mercer was fishing in his back yard. He asked Dave if he caught any g g g giants and Dave responded no just t t t tiny ones. Ike went out with a cameraman after the weighin to film some more and the rest of them went to the bar next door 14 Quote

Super User slonezp Posted September 26, 2015 Author Super User Posted September 26, 2015 Send me your favorite T shirt & hat & I will autograph them for you. I'm having shoulder surgery #3 in a few weeks. If they can get it right and I'm able to spend more than a few hours on the water at a time, I'll hand deliver them to Mexico one of these years and I can get signatures from the entire Scrounga club. 2 Quote

Super User WIGuide Posted September 29, 2015 Super User Posted September 29, 2015 Looks like a great time! I've had the opportunity to meet quite a few pros, and I've gotta say I've met very few who are really nice and approachable guys. Looks like your son had a great experience as well. Quote
