Mr_Poche' Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Any use or have any experience with the damiki air frog? Interested in them but would like to hear people's opinion. What hooks do you use with them Quote
PAGreg Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I got a couple of packs to try this spring and I haven't been real impressed with them. They are heavy and don't seem to come through any kind of cover without picking up junk. I'm using the 6/0 Owner Beast hooks that Damiki recommends. Quote
Mr_Poche' Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 That's what I was worried about. I wanted the best of both worlds between a hollow body and buzzing frog. But after reading a few review the slop I fish would be a no go. Thanks for your input Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted September 12, 2015 Super User Posted September 12, 2015 No experience with them. BUT I do think that you can switch (swim/twitch) them in slop. Consider these two videos, may help you: Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted September 12, 2015 Super User Posted September 12, 2015 This one should help too: This guy has the most self control on a hookset that I've ever seen! Quote

Ginosocalbass Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I like most of damiki products. The air frog is pretty good though I wish they'd make a 3" one for New Jersey lol Quote
Heron Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Tried it.............didn't much like it. Its size and weight seem to cause it to come through the water like a brick. Now admittedly, I was using a 5/0 hook, when it recommends a 7/0 hook. But sorry, Im not into spending money on special hooks just to fit one bait. for a floating plastic buzz frog, I opted for the Top Toad, and have been satisfied with it. Quote

For some reason it is very hard to me to hook fish on a top toad. I have tried like every hook imaginable too. Double and single hooks of all sizes. I am not even sure the best way to rig them. I seem to do best with just a single screw lock hook. Quote

Upon getting bit, you need to drop your rod tip and give the fish 1-2 seconds to fully get the bait into their mouth, and then lay the wood to them. Quote

I have no problem hooking fish on any other buzz frog or whatever it may be. It's just the top toads that have me trouble. I tried a ton of different rigging methods and never really settled on one I thought worked well for me. Quote
