Super User Montanaro Posted September 10, 2015 Super User Posted September 10, 2015 Anyone else like this technique. Used it for first time last weekend and caught a mess, mostly dinks in a couple hours. I feel like it can be my new go to Co angler technique. The weight gives you more precision on targetting underwater cover and it keeps the worm off bottom in their face. Quote
MidwestF1sh Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Use it all the time. probably half the time I'm drop shotting its with a wackey rigged trick worm. Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted September 10, 2015 Super User Posted September 10, 2015 It's a good technique. I use the same worms I use on a regular wacky rig. My 2nd biggest fish was on a wacky dropshot using a dream shot worm. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 10, 2015 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 10, 2015 Yep! I even made a video about it! http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/wacky-rig-senko.html 1 Quote
BassThumb Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Believe it or not, the best fishing I've ever had with a dropshot was with a wacky-rigged mustard-colored tube, of all things. I had a torn up tube sitting on the carpet, so I decided to toss it on the dropshot to see what would happen. It worked great. Since then, I've tried numerous baits wacky-style, and I have better luck rigging them that way vs. standard. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted September 11, 2015 Super User Posted September 11, 2015 Yes, I love doing it. Two of my favorite finesse techniques (small wacky rig and dropshot) put together! Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted September 11, 2015 Super User Posted September 11, 2015 I like a wacky jighead. VMC makes good ones Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 11, 2015 Super User Posted September 11, 2015 What Glenn said times two. You can use the wacky rigged plastic on a drop shot and it is a good presentation. And don't be limited by the type of plastic. Go with lizards, grubs, brush hogs, crawfish, trick worms, finesse plastics and any of your favorite plastics rigged "Texas or Wacky" style. Check out Glenn's video for more information. All the best for a new personal best! Quote
