Anyone ever take the classic hula grub and put it on a swing jig? Seems to me like it would work well and be a different use for hula grubs other than rigging them on a standard jighead.

I will tell the Hula Grub works very well finesse C-rigged using 3/8 oz Pro-Jo and pegged glass bead with a 3/0 off set hook.

You can swim retrieve any jig, the Hula grub works as a swim jig trailer.

All I did on my last few trips. Dragging it in rock in 20 fow, getting over 30 smallies a day with a few over 5. Dirty jigs swing head and a hula grub.

Pretty much the only way I fish a Hula Grub. Only fish them at a couple of lakes but it's a deadly way to present them.

See, this is why you guys are the best. Here's another presentation that seem obvious once you say it, but I hadn't thought of for some reason.

I read this post and said out loud, "Why didn't I think of that???"

Thanks!

The GYCB 5" Hula Grub has been among my top go-to baits for years.

I mold football swing jigs and rig it with a Biffle Bug, the presentation developed by Tommy Biffle and Gene Larew. The smallies like it.

Can't tell you exactly why, but the Hula Grub just doesn't look right on the swing football jighead. I have no doubt that it would work, however.
