bassin is addicting Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Could use any help you might be willing to share. I'm fishing in a tournament there in two weeks and I've never fished there. Launching from Sandusky City ramp/Sandusky Bay. Thanks, I appreciate any help anyone might be able to give me. Quote

hatrix Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 There is good fishing around there. As to where you go is up to you though. The bay, around Catawba, you can even run up to the islands as that is usually alway a good place. Look for vegetation and boulders rocks around the shore as that is usually holding fish and some big ones. It you have the both combined adjacent to each other then even better usually.I spent the weekend at a friends cottage in Catawba about 3 weeks ago and we put a hurt on some fishing from shore. I caught a bunch workin pads and anywhere you get a break on the waves with frogs. More open water I threw tons of swimbaits and glides and also caught a bunch. That probably don't help though as I am a swimbait guy and it's doubtful you have some triple trouts and bullshooters ect. Jerkbaits are usually always good for something and so is pitching a tube and dragging it. You will figure it out but it is definitely possible to pull up with a 20# bag of snallies or large or both. Good luck. Quote

bassin is addicting Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 Well, kind of a double whammy. The weather was terrible 5 - 7 foot waves they had a small boat warning and kept us in the bay and my partner fell in the boat and had shoulder problem and we had to cut our tournament short. 15 pounds was leading after day one and we didn't fish day two - due to his shoulder. We only had about 9 pounds ourself. Pretty disappointing all the way around Quote
agilmorefishing Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 You're going to have to be hitting bottom with a crank bait. Quote
