Super User FryDog62 Posted September 3, 2015 Super User Posted September 3, 2015 I will be fishing in the morning and looking for recommendations. Fishing a medium sized lake that has 3-4 rock piles, some in 3 feet of water and some 10-12 feet. There are some weeds in/around the rock piles but not heavy cover. I plan on rigging one pole with a Smokin' Rooster... how would you rig? Weightless, on a football jig, 1/4-1/2 oz Texas rig, etc, etc? Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted September 3, 2015 Super User Posted September 3, 2015 Rage Rig or texas rig Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted September 3, 2015 Global Moderator Posted September 3, 2015 T Rig bounced and/or dragged Shaky head with a heavier head than you would normally use to keep it anchored to let that long thin tail do it's thing. Mike Quote
Heron Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Hmm.....I usually like it on a 3/0 weighted swimbait hook. retrieved slow just off the bottom. Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted September 3, 2015 Author Super User Posted September 3, 2015 Thanks all, how much weight? Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted September 4, 2015 Super User Posted September 4, 2015 Rage, C-rig, or as a jig trailer, Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted September 4, 2015 Super User Posted September 4, 2015 Just a texas rig, usually with a 1/4 oz weight. They also look good when you swim them rigged sideways. Quote
Super User webertime Posted September 4, 2015 Super User Posted September 4, 2015 CAROLINA RIG. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted September 4, 2015 Super User Posted September 4, 2015 If I'm not mistaken they we're originally designed with the c-rig in mind. Quote
