Been a member for a while, wondering if anyone else would like a separate forum page like they have for different regions for bass fishing. Being that many anglers of all stripes love this site, how about a trout forum, seen allot of carp questions all lumped together in "other" species. Just a thought. Don't need forums for every fish species but one for bass and one for all others seems like it can use a update. More species to talk about, easier to find the forums equals more members.

Don't see the need.

This is a Bass site first & fore most - the few "other" categories currently displayed are sufficient.

I understand what you mean, but once you start breaking it down to a forum for each species of fish, wouyldn't you think that the site would get pretty cluttered?

Maybe a different forum for Saltwater Fish and a forum for "Other" Freshwater Fish? IDK, I kind of like it the way it is.

maybe just have trout, carp, saltwater, and esox (pike and muskie) topic sections branching off from other species. That wouldn't be too confusing. I do get that this is BASSresource and not troutresource or carpresource, but having individual species sections would be extremely convenient yet would not take away from the whole idea of it being a bass forum. Are you out there Glenn? We need your input!

Even though I fish way more salt than fresh water, I have to agree with A Jay to remain status quo.

I like it the way it is. Adding extra species specific thread is too much clutter

Subforums should be able to be made under the main "Other Species" forum.  That would take care of clutter and I wouldn't care either way.

If subforums cannot be made, then I have to vote no.

i don't think even a subforum is necessary. If this forum was way more active then maybe, but having a pike forum and carp forum, etc would be a pretty lonely place.

This "other species" board is probably one of the best multi-species board on the net.

I read many/most of the posts and rarely know what forum they are in, so I'm the wrong person to ask...but I have my own question: What's the need?  Are trout fishermen accidentally reading a carp post because the title was unclear?

How might such a change improve your BR experience?

1. It's bass resource but got gun forums, flea market etc. I'm not sure but many states stock trout, seems like a forum for trout or salmon would be wise. That way trout posts and pics stay on the same page.

Other Species: ( name your fish type here ) then type out your OP title.. It's simple & works well. Unless you are seeking additional information such as vids, comprehensive articles. Even then, someone can link a vid or other resource in a reply..

You know, I wouldn't mind seeing the Flea Market divided into buying and selling forums, or maybe even buying/selling forums based on what one is looking for.

For example, I'm actively looking for a new rod of a certain type and length.  Scrolling through all the titles is becoming a bit tedious.

Really?

Today we have had a whopping 2 new posts. More generally, 10 would be HUGE!

Regarding "Other Species"...This is a BASS Forum. This is a section to occasionally talk

about other fish and I love me some stripes! I don't think we are going there, but all suggestions

will always be considered.

If you think of it, if everyone tagged their topic, wouldn't that make the whole search experience easier? I thought that was the whole idea behind tagging topics?

I could be wrong though.

100% agree! If you want to discuss saltwater fishing or whatever other species in depth find a different websites devoted to that.

Kent,

I don't go to the Flea Market often, and so when I do get there, I do generally wade through posts.

Now, I didn't expect anything to really change; rather, I figure this and having separate "other species" boards are about as equally realistic.

Regards,

Josh
