We caught the same bass 3 times today. We were calling it by name because it only had one eye. We named it one eye. (Original I know) unless there are 3 different 3 lb. bass with one eye in the same spot we caught the same fish in 1.5 hours time. I was always told once a fish is caught it take some time before they will bite again. Not the case here. Wonder if it was because he only had one eye.

I think as long as you didnt traumatize him hes back on the prowl within 20 minutes or so esp if his stomach was empty and usually have a tougher time as a one-eyed jack

Had the same thing this past Saturday, 2 eyes but a big red spot under the jaw. Caught it on the second cast in the morning, left to run an errand, caught it again on the same lure after coming back about 2 hours later. Showed a guy standing near by, the pic I had taken in the morning after grabbing him the second time.

I have had the same fish break off a buddies bait and then bite my bait twice within the past week. Same baits too so not like following it up with a different presentation.  After 10+ years of fishing, they never quit surprising you.

Well, I really don't know how I should say it but when it comes to what you been told and what happens in reality is that, fish don't give a darn about what we say ya know. I've caught in many ocassions the same fish with the same lure the same day, actually, I caught the same fish with the same lure twice within minutes, caught it here, released it and a couple of casts apart I caught it again maybe 10 yards from where Incaight it the first time. As your fish mine was easily identifiable, it had a really deformed mouth.

Last week i caught a 4lber on a spinnerbait. Next cast i caught it again on the same exact kvd spinner. Ive gone to that spot 4 times now. Every single time i have caught her, even my friend caught her a couple days ago. Youd think shed get smarter

I caught the same humpback bass off the same stump on the same black and blue jig twice in the same day a few hours apart. I broke one off on a wacky rig earlier this year, fired a cast back to the same spot and caught him on a senko with my other bait still in his mouth. Last year my buddy broke off a smallmouth. A couple hours later I caught it with his bait still in it's mouth with the exact same bait.

They're not as smart as we give them credit for sometimes.

Once, my friend caught a nice 2 3/4 pound bass on a magnum trick worm. As he released it, the fish started swimming off, and I stopped watching it because I thought I saw my line jump, so I set the hook. Nothing on the line. Well, apparently, that bass my friend had caught had been swimming right past my line when I thought there was another fish on it, and I flared the worm right in his face when I set the hook. So, of course, he ate it! I caught the exact same bass only about 15 seconds after he had released it.

I hope that's not the one that I performed "surgery" on, trying to save its eye.

My dad snapped one off in a tournament on a hookset, re-rigged quickly, and threw back to the same spot. Brought in a keeper with his other worm still in it's mouth.
