Hi guys,

I noticed Academy's crankbaits are pretty inexpensive.  Has anyone used them?

Cheers.

Awesome baits, worth twice the price.

Absolutely, they even have pretty decent hooks on them. I fish them a lot because I like to crank nasty stuff so if I lose one it's not a big deal. All their hard baits are good honestly.

Ditto on the above posts.  Plus, if you catch them on  sale - even better.

I've been using them since Academy came to Wichita. They run pretty true right out of the box. I especially like the 3-5' small squarebills they sell. They are usually $3 but I have been able to get a few on sale for $2.

Their colors are really good also.

Academy has become my go-to. It's way closer then BPS or Cabela's. Their stuff is QUALITY. And they have big box prices. It doesn't matter how cheap WalMart is if they don't have it.

Yup, I love the academy hardbaits. The 1.0 equivalent is a small mouth killer around here!

I love academy baits, but can not get them up here in Canada. Their squarebill crankbaits have caught me a bunch of fish. I bought a bunch on a trip down south about 3 years ago but they are almost all gone, pike like them too. Great bait for the price and good color selection. Chris.

Yes!  One more "two thumbs up" for H20 baits from Academy!  I love them, and they go on sale quite often even though they are a great price already!!!

Same here. Every time I'm in Wichita, I stop at Academy. I particularly like their large squarebill cranks. I've caught a lot of bass on those.

All of the hard baits that I've bought there have been very good quality.

I own a bunch of them. Since I catch bass on them, I'd say they were well worth the price. Well made, run true, and quality components, down to oval split rings. Their squarebills are my favorite.

I will echo the above and say they're pretty much all I buy anymore. I will also vouch for their quality by saying I use the big square bills for redfishing around oysterbars in the saltwater.

They rock.

No clue about Academy, but if they are the same as Dick's, Cabela's and BPS they are probably made by the same company.

The BPS and Cabela's cranks are nowhere near as good as the Academy baits. I have all 3 stores within 30 minutes and have fished all extensively, the H20 blows the other 2 out of the water and they cost less!

I have BPS, Cabela's and they just built a Gander mountain.  REALLY wish we had an Academy, LOVE the H2O crankbaits...
