Super User *Hootie Posted August 30, 2015 Super User Posted August 30, 2015 I just thought I would snap a shot of a bass that my wife mounted for me in 1979. Now take note, that though over the years, it has become somewhat discolored. Also, I would like to point out that she had never attempted anything like this before, and never has since. They used to sell kits, that would supply enough whatever, to mount one ten pound bass, or two five pound bass. So she wanted to buy a kit and give it a try. This bass weighed just a shade over 4# on a butcher scale. I just want to say, all things considered, I think she did an awesome job. Nearly 37 years have passed and it's still here. Oh, and so is she, by the way. Hootie 13 Quote
Super User Scott F Posted August 30, 2015 Super User Posted August 30, 2015 A mount is a nice way to remember a good fish caught but this is extra special because your wife made it for you. I can understand why you shared it with us. 3 Quote

Super User RoLo Posted August 30, 2015 Super User Posted August 30, 2015 Thanks for sharing *Hootie, memorabilia is a priceless commodity I have a house full of skin-mounted fish, birds and animals. Nonetheless, I'm fully cognizant of the fact that their intrinsic value lies in personal memories & achievements, something that cannot be appreciated nor quantified by the rest of the world. When we are gone, their extrinsic value will fade in kind Roger 2 Quote
