Best 6 Ft. Medium-Heavy Rod

I fish a lake with a lot of overhanging limbs, etc and prefer a 6 ft. rod to use there.  I worm fish a lot, but have a really hard time finding a quality 6 ft. medium heavy rod.  Who makes the best rod in that class?

The G-Loomis CR723 IMX is a great rod. It's nimble, has backbone, a soft tip and is plenty sensitive. It does many things well from worms, top water, spinnerbaits, bladed jigs etc. If I were looking for another CR723, I would get the GLX version because it will be more sensitive for bottom contact baits and have better guides but the IMX version is fine if you can't afford the GLX.

I Bought a 6' CR724 IMX. It's a very light and sensitive rod with a great tip and plenty of back bone. The rod is extremely versatile. I'd like to get a longer version. If you're interested in buying at a deal let me know. I bought it 4 weeks ago.

I'm with everyone else, G.Loomis classic casting but if that is too much coin, the Cabelas Fish Eagle 50 will work. I suggested it as a lower cost because I had the original Fish Eagle II rods and they had a really nice feel to the MH, great tip for a MH with good backbone but if you can afford it the 723 in a GL3 or IMX, the 724 is a bit more powerful and for a 6' rod I don't think you need that.

If you wanted to fish 10" worms and a craw the size of a Rage Tail Lobster, I would opt for the 724. If you are sticking with Trick Worm size worms or regular size crawls, then the 723 is what you want. Cover would also play a part in your choice. Heavier cover, the 724. More moderate cover, the 723.

While it's 6'3 I feel compelled to add my vote.  Steez MH 6'3. I own some NRX's, GLX's and a MegaBass X7 series rod and yes they are all great but none are as versatile as the 6'3 Steez. So sensitive while being extremely powerfull. Here is a great indepth review from the Tackle Warehouse:

Simply an awesome rod at the 6' range and should not be over looked.

Just FYI, the 724 is not a broomstick at all. My 6' Avid MH is much stiffer than the Loomis. On another note; the 724 is a fantastic toad rod.

I spoke to a G Loomis rep before I bought the rod. If the OP is serious about buying he should call and ask questions.
