Super User roadwarrior Posted August 28, 2015 Super User Posted August 28, 2015 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 28, 2015 Super User Posted August 28, 2015 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook Or a 3/0-4/0 straight shank round bend 1 Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 28, 2015 Super User Posted August 28, 2015 The absolute last thing I would say is: "use this size hook", it depends on the size of the bait, smaller baits = smaller hooks. I oftenly fish a "regular" T tig, 1/16 oz bullet weight with a 4 inch straight tail worm, which hook ? 1 or 1/0, still a "regular" Texas rig. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted August 28, 2015 Super User Posted August 28, 2015 3/0 or 4/0 Round Bend offset is what I use. Gamakatsu preferably. VMC have worked for me too. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted August 28, 2015 Super User Posted August 28, 2015 99% of the time I use a 3/0-4/0 EWG hook. I use a 3/8 oz weight for t-rigs. Quote

Smokinal Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook Or a 3/0-4/0 straight shank round bend Both of these. I like a 4/0 EWG offset Worm for craws and a 4/0 straight shank worm hook for my worms. I like Gammys for my offset hooks and Trokar for my worm hooks. You stick a fish with a Trokar and it comes in the boat. Quote
AdamsEye Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 The size of the plastic, influences the size of the hook. Bigger worms allow for bigger hooks, but in the case of a worm I feel bigger hooks take away from the action of the plastic. The rage craw is not quite the same as a worm, and there are many different size worms. You can cover most applications with 1/0 to 5/0, 1/0 4" worms, 5/0 10" worms. But I would not advise to fish all your worms on the same size hook. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted August 28, 2015 Super User Posted August 28, 2015 One of the reasons I like the Chigger Craw. It tells you right on the bag. Quote
poisonokie Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 For a rage craw or something similar use an ewg hook that takes up most of the body of the bait when you rig it, that way if you get a bite you have a better chance of getting a hook set. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted August 29, 2015 Super User Posted August 29, 2015 On a Rage Craw, Use a 4/0-5/0. I like the 5/0 Moaner Stick'R, which is a twist-lock hook. Same for the Lobster. 3/0 for the Baby Craw. 2 Quote
