Last time I checked, 30lb braid has the diameter of 8 pound mono...but the reel hold *less* of that than mono??What am I not getting here???? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 28, 2015 Super User Posted August 28, 2015 Diameter per pound rating isn't standard so it matters little. Anything that says 90+ for 12# line is gone for bass fishing. If you need some exact measurement, then use a line counter. Quote
gregk9 Posted August 29, 2015 Author Posted August 29, 2015 Ok, that would be "Reel *Line* Capacity! Sorry for the typo. Quote

It's just weird to me on how they come up with these numbers.... Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 29, 2015 Super User Posted August 29, 2015 Marketing and specification are two different things, bud. Quote
Fun4Me Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 I'm guessing that they just used the mono diameter for all of the numbers, although that doesn't pan out either. I don't know why they would do that, or what possible marketing advantage would be gained by it, but I don't build reels for a living. Quote
