Super User bigbill Posted August 28, 2015 Super User Posted August 28, 2015 Prep for winter. Clean your fireplace and woodstove chimneys. Don't forget to have your oil burner serviced. Don't forget to clean the intake filter on your hot air furnace. Clean your dryer vent hose too. Put seafoam stabilizer in all your power equipment. It will keep the gas fresh. Stock up on bird seed. Our feathered Freinds need to eat too. I stock up on corn for the deer. When there's three feet of snow cover for months it's hard on them. Plus the turkeys show up too. It's almost time for the humming birds and barn swallows to migrate. The summer went by so fast. Well we can still bass fish. Quote
Crappiebasser Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Why would anyone live in a place you have to do all that prep? My winter prep, tie a float n fly rig on, put on a light jacket, keep fishing. 5 Quote

Be thankful that the "tourons" will be leaving soon. Enjoy the weather without the gosh aweful heat/humidity,open the windows and not have the ac running. Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 29, 2015 Super User Posted August 29, 2015 My wife was at he market yesterday, she said lot's of hurricane preppers, looks like it may break up but we still can get power outage. Best time of the year to be fishing down here. Quote
Crappiebasser Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 I do The Very Same Thing during Hurricanes on the East Coast Of Alabama ~ A-Jay The east coast of Alabama is Georgia. We don't get hurricanes here. The worst is a tropical storm strength by the time it gets this far inland and they are awesome fishing times. Very low BP, warm wind, and light rain. Even if we get flooding that just means more current and better bite. Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted September 1, 2015 Super User Posted September 1, 2015 I get reports emailed to me daily so I know what I'm missing, not happy about either. Some may be aware I have fractured spine, have done no fishing at all. The doc gave me the all clear to go at my pace, I ventured out to the ICW yesterday but thought better of re injuring myself, bonita are running and they can be monsters. My wife tells me to go to my ponds here, I said to fish 90 degree weather for 12-15" fish, no future in that other than to get out of the house. I can wait till I get stronger, even the canal bass get much bigger in a few months. Quote
