boydn1 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I just noticed my cable is way messed up.I have a 798c si HD mounted on the trolling motor. Pretty sure it's a "XTM 9 HDSI 180 T". Is this the most bestest transducer for this unit? Thanks Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted August 28, 2015 Super User Posted August 28, 2015 The standard transducer for the 700 series and lower SI units is the Compact SI XNT 9 SI 180 T The trolling motor puck version is the XTM 9 SI 180 T The XHS 9 HDSI 180 T is an extra purchase and is the standard transducer for the larger SI units. That one is 6" long. It is also the same transducer as the XTM 9 HDSI 180 T, just comes with a trolling motor bracket rather than a transom bracket. It is the top of the line SI transducer for core units. The model of the transducer is on a tag on the cable about 12" from the plug. The HDSI transducer will produce sharper images than the standard one for your unit. Quote

Super User Wayne P. Posted August 28, 2015 Super User Posted August 28, 2015 I prefer a more sturdy mount for it made by Transducer Shield and Saver Quote
boydn1 Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 Many thanks, that's what I thought. I also use the Transducer Shield and Saver. I thought you used both sites. Quote
