Mike C Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Is there a certain type of paint that you would not use on a lure. I was looking at Createx, but then found a whole mess of pther mfgs (House of Color, Kustom color, laquer, enamel, etc, etc) Should you stick with one type or can you spray different types on a single bait? Thanks Mike Quote
b.Lee Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Depends on your budget and how skilled you are I suppose. I just use spray paint cans, I have gotten pretty good with them and some paint brushes. It is cheap, but you need to cure the paint well so it is durable with a good clear coat. Just go with what is in your budget. Paint is paint sooner or later it is going to fade, chip or need re-painting. Quote
wickyman Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 I use auto air air brushing paint. I think it is made by createx. It's worth the cash. If you ask me, no one makes a better paint... It's thin, comes in all sorts of color combos, and makes life so much easier, even on clean up! Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted November 12, 2009 Super User Posted November 12, 2009 Should you stick with one type or can you spray different types on a single bait? you should not spray different types (lacquer, enamel, acrylic, etc.) of paints on the same bait. they may not be compatible, and you may end up with a mess. if you want to spray one bait in lacquer and another in acrylic thats fine, but stick with one type of paint per bait. BIG M Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Don't mix paints or you will have a mess. Once you have a system of paint and clear coat then you baits will be consistant. Quote
