When your fishing for Clearwater resevoir smallies what spinnerbaits do you like to throw?

I like the SK finesse spinnerbait but I've also wanted to try the revenge double willow spinnerbaits.

What's yours?

A 3/4 oz or 1 oz white shirt with undersized white willow blades -

But you need to burn it back to the boat just under the surface -

And when I say burn it - I mean like work up a sweat - out of breath burn it.

And don't forget the trailer hook . . . .

Made from components from Barlow's:

1/2 oz. body

#3 & #4 blades

Living Rubber chartreuse and white skirt with 1/2 tab of clear/gold silicone

Like A-Jay, I burn it not far under the surface and keep a good grip on my rod so big smallies don't take it away from me.

This presentation works best when the water temp is around 60º, give or take, in bright sun with wind 15 mph and stronger.

My 3 favorite smallmouth spinnerbaits to burn, Nichol's mag44 in blue shad or chartreuse, strike king burner in sexy shad, and revenge 3/4oz in shad. Burn them as fast as you can on a high speed reel and hang on. Chris.

I've had lots of success with the 1/2oz Strike King bleeding white in double willow.

Pepper Custom Baits Clearwater Spinnerbait in 1/2oz. White and Chartreuse

Agreed,  though I favor the purple illusion color. Really nice spinner baits

This is gonna sound odd, but I would grab one of the $1 spinnerbaits from wally world. I usually grab white with the willow blade. The skirt is junk so I take it off and rig a shad color or white fluke onto the hook. That's my go-to lure when searching for smallies in clear lakes, working it over submerged islands and rip-rap.

I prefer river2sea bling spinner baits in either 1/2 or 3/4. White is my go to color with silver willows because I don't like throw a spinner bait much when it's not sunny out. Like everyone else has said I burn them back to the boat unless it gets super windy, then I am comfortable slowing down just a little bit.

I don't think ccsevaneebasser got his due.  In my very clear water I fish a skirtless double willow dressed with a 3" or 4" grub.  If weather conditions are breaking up the surface quite badly I might throw a bright yellow head with a dozen of so strands of bright skirt left to cover a yellow grub body... of course this invites more pike bites as well.

@OkobojiEagle Thanks man. I've since moved away from using the flukes.Using 4" Keitech swimbaits in any subtle color on the spinnerbait have been producing a bit better for me.

The same here, other than color. Mine is chartreuse all over, heavy weight, small blades. Colors over rated anyway. The important thing, like A-jay says is burning it. Rod tip down bait bulging the surface, even breaking it every few yards. Brings them up from 12'+ water on Erie. I learned the technique from guys on Lake Winnipessaukee over 20 years ago, and have been using it ever since on Erie and Raystown. I still call it the "Winny Special".

I throw a Sick Custom Baits spinnerbait wherever I go. My best producing colors are Gold Dust, Purple Haze Gold, and Jelly Crab.
