bassin is addicting Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Help! I got some weedless tub jig heads with a fiber weedguard and for the life of me I can't figure out how to rig them without tearing up the tube. A good detailed description or a video would be much appreciated. Thanks. Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I have also been wondering this. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted August 23, 2015 Super User Posted August 23, 2015 I don't know what you're using but the Owner Phantom Tube Hook is a Killer way to present a tube weedless. A-Jay 1 Quote
Stapsy Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Go in with the hook point where you want the weedguard to come out, then slide the hook through the space in the middle and have it exit the tube. After that slide the head through the hole you made and poke the eye through the tube. It isn't perfect but it is the best way I have found. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted August 23, 2015 Super User Posted August 23, 2015 Yeah, I had to ask the guy at Cabela's how you do this after I picked up some tubes and jigheads. Quote

Racerx Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Well, since he asked about rigging with jigheads that are already weedless, I figure I'd chime in. I can't remember where, for the life of me, I read it, but you take a coffee stirrer and from the poke it through the tube where you want the weedguard to exit. Now, with the end that is through the inside of the tube, bring it out of the back of the tube and feed it OVER top of the weedguard. what you are essetially doing is using the stirrer as a guide, to bring the guard through the tube and out the hole created. You MAY have to start feeding it in with the jig head facing down, to get it started, but you get the idea. Then, just push the jig's eyelet through the tube, and tie off. Depending on the guard material, such as metal, you may have to bend it back into position. A bit tedious at first, but you get the hang of it. Hope this helps. Quote
