I've been in Layton on and off for the past 2 years, this trip is likely to be up to a year long. I've got a couple spots I fish from the bank but would love to hook up with someone with a boat - sharing expenses naturally. So, if anyone is interested in doing some bassin' with a very well versed Florida angler please feel free to drop me a note. Returning on the 24th of Aug and staying until.....

A little late but I just joined the forum. I have a bass boat and originally come from Wisconsin. I find Utah very very tough for bass fishing. However, I consider myself a beginner. Would love to get together and fish if we can make our schedules work. Let me know.

Thanks,

Dan

I used to live near logan. Pretty good bass fishing up in that area, compared to Layton.

I really wasn't to happy to move. I fished up in Southern Idaho pretty much all summer. It was great. I'm going to have try some of the lakes around here now. Do you fish Pineview much? It seems there is very little shore access. At least on the west side. I haven't been on the east side.

Utah has fairly good lakes for bass. I lived there for 30 years. If I can help, let me know. I can offer long distance advice.

If you want giant smallmouth, try Midview on the Ute tribal lands near Myton.

I'm down in the Utah County area. Hopefully with the moisture we're receiving this winter, Utah Lake will be up and back to it's wonderful self this summer. I know it's not Florida, but Utah Lake will be amazing this year if the water levels are up where they should be. I'm hoping to have a bass boat before summer is very far gone. I'd love to take you out and pick your brain. In fact, I already have a question for you. I'm dying to get a beefy pitchin' and flippin rod, that can also double as a small to medium swimbait rod. I'm trying to choose between a Powell Max 3D 765 or 795. Any input on that? I looking forward to meeting and fishing with more Utah anglers interested in bass.

Heck yea!! I just logged back into the forum after a hiatus due to school getting the best of me and read this thread. looks like this summer could be much better than last year as mentioned with the water levels. I've been wanting to get down to utah lake for some time now. My very close friend who is returning from a deployment soon is committed to the sport as much as anyone i know and he also wants to do utah lake. It seems like the only natural "midwestern like" body of water that stands a good chance at producing my first 5 pounder. I'd also love to practice my flippin. I own a bass boat and would love to meet up with any of you guys this summer and take our luck out on the water.
