Ha! Touche

The closest dealer only has Merc.  The next closest dealer that has Lund has Yamaha, Merc and Honda, but I won't deal with him.

The dealer where I got my Lund has Honda, which is GREAT, but Honda doesn't make a 300.......yet!

Posted

They can be ordered with a Honda

Thanks for that. Just checked the honda website and the 200 is around 100lb heavier than the 4 cyl verado or the opti.

Found a PA dealer with Lund and Yamaha.  It's a little over 3 hours away.  Glad it's not closer!!

Oh Man ~

I've got an appointment with my dealer On Friday ! ! !

A-Jay

Just got back ~  Unfortunately this new boat was not on site. ( I knew that already before heading up)

But the good folks at Maple Bay Marine are working hard to get one there for me to check out.

In any event, they did have a ton of good info on the boat, motor choices & trailers as well as going over all the accessories & options available.

Answered all my questions and wait for it . . . . . . . we're putting something together.    Looks Very Promising at this point.

More to follow.

I'm going with 1875 Pro V Bass. The Black

It uses the same hull as the Current pro v 1875 but With NO WOOD in the construction.

Aluminum decks and a Composite Transom combined with the TONS of storage is very attractive.

Hanging an 200 XS on the back. (Still deciding on the prop)  Hummingbird electronics, Minn Kota Fortrex  maybe the 80, the Minn Kota Talon (12 ft) and some cool custom graphics.

May go Vinyl Cockpit , bike or bench seat up front, no hot foot (hate them)

Haven't decided on 24 or 36 volt yet either.

Sweet!!!

Couple things come to mind. Don't forget a boarding ladder. If it has the sport track system, the mooring/travel cover is nice. It's not a typical canvas cover and made of a nicer material and vented. I'm going into year and the cover is still waterproof. No mildew ever in the boat which was an issue with the canvas cover on my last boat. Boat is stored outside year round. There is a bimini option for the sport track if you want to take momma out for a cruise. :wink2:   As far as the trailer, I'm not too happy with the Shorelander cosmetically, mechanically it has been good. I've got the upgraded painted trailer with dual axles, aluminum wheels, and brakes. I added some bright LED back up lights to see the ramp at dark. The cosmetic issues are some type of electrolysis/rust on some of the galvanized bolts, rust on the wheel hubs, and rust on the side bunk guide ons. The paint on the trailer frame has held up well.

The 24v 80lb wasn't enough for the Predator. I went to a 112 36v My hull is 200lbs heavier plus the larger gas tank and livewells add a bunch of weight.

If I can think of anything else before you sign on the dotted line I'll let you know

THANK YOU !

Please do not hesitate to pass anything & everything you can think of - nothing is too minor.

Boat comes with a safety ladder deal built into the port transom.  Did go with a cover as well - will make sure it's the right one.

I'm also going to look hard into trailer options - definitely appreciate the heads up.  I'll see what's what as I get a little closer to the final order.

Sounds like the bigger trolling motor & battery upgrade may be the way to go as well.  Thanks.

I'm fortunate in that this will be indoor storage year round.

I agree on the 36 volt trolling motor...I've run q 36 volt Terrova on 18 ft boats for several years and will never go back.

If this boat does as good as my Lund 1825 Pro Guide it will be a keeper. I only wish Lund would have made water tight storage on the 1825. Other then that, for my type of fishing can't beat the Pro Guide With a tiller motor.

I saw this boat in person at the Minneapolis Boat Show last month.  The salesman was honest about its prospects on the market as a true bass boat, and he wasn't sure if it was going to catch on.  Its not quite like the other bass boats (glass or tin).  It reminded more so of their standard deep-v walleye/multi species boats.  I actually didn't care for that pull up storage box thing in the back deck.  Didn't Lund introduce a fiberglass boat years ago even though most of their boats are aluminum?  Wondering if you've used it yet A-Jay and what you think of it so far.

My orders is still a work in progress.   Ironing out a few details.  What was about the pop-up tackle storage that you didn't like ?

It just didn't seem to slide very well or pull up as easily as I expected.  Maybe the fact that it was a brand new display model had something to do with it.  Like it has to be "worn in."

I noticed that on one of the two boats I looked at as well.  The other model operated some what "smoother".

Nothing a close look at, some familiarity with how the mechanism works and a little TLC won't smooth out.

Lund has a glass line which is defined by the letters GL in the model. They do not make their glass hulls and the name escapes me who does. If you haven't had a look at the ProV GL it is one of the best laid out multispecies boats on the market.

Man that's a beauty! Up north if it doesn't say Lund, it's a second class citizen. I own a Crestliner VT17 and thought I'd never look at another boat but I feel like I'm cheating on her when I watched the video!

Good Luck A-Jay!

I'm not good reading backwards, but at 4:10, that looks like a price tag sticker? Is that a six figure price? That's one heckuva boat, for sure, lol.

Thats the price on the boat?  Guess I might not be buying a Lund

That was the price on the Pro-V 219GL in the video.  From what I'm hearing. The Pro V Bass can be had for about half that.

I'm curious if anyone has had a chance to test drive this boat yet. Thoughts? It REALLY has my interest peaked. Unfortunately, we're likely a month or so out from open water and not many dealers around here seem too keen on the thought of stocking them.
