Super User FryDog62 Posted August 18, 2015 Super User Posted August 18, 2015 i was checking that stuff out , a review in another thread would be appreciated !! So far I like the Hevi-core sinking braid fairly well but need more time on the water with it. I also plan to buy some Spiderwire Fluorobraid which is also supposed to sink. Then do a comparison and maybe a review. Quote

mprestonSEK Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I use 10lb Powerpro with about a 15 foot leader of fluorocarbon leader on my 3000 Shimano Exsence HGM and absolutely love it. Casting distance is great and never have to worry about line twist. I mainly fish around deep grass beds and using braid allows me to have better hook sets. It really comes down to personal preference though. I would try them both out and see what is right for you. I use braid to leader on all of my rods except for my crank and spinnerbait rods. Quote
bigfruits Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I use powerpro braid sunline sniper FC yozuri hybrid copoly trilene xl mono Quote
tnt2671 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 What is better Braid or Fluorocarbon and which brand is the best. It will be on a spinning reel that is used for all types of lures. if i was stuck with only one reel my choice would be braid preferably sunline fx2 , if the brad becomes bothersome throwing treble baits then you could always add leader of you choice that would be the most versatile setup for only one outfit. FinCulture Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 go with braid and a fluoro leader. Make sure the braid is light, maybe 20 pound. Quote
bassr95 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Another vote for braid and a leader. Straight flouro stretches on a long cast and doesn't give a solid hookup like braid. Just my opinion of course Quote
long island basser Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I'd recommend 15 lb braid. There are quite a few good brands out in today's market, but I have been using power pro for years now with no issues. If I deem it necessary, I will tie on a leader of my choice. Quote
Robert Riley Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Best setup ive ever used on spinning gear is- Mono backing, 15lb power pro braid main line, and a fc sniper flourocarbon leader ^^This. I use Trilene mono, Sunline SX1 and Seaguar Invizx Quote
