I was up there a few weeks ago and had a pretty tough time of it. I rented a canoe from the state park, and you can only take those out from like 10 - 4 or something dumb.

The headwinds were awful and pushed me around the lake. If you're bringing your own boat, you'll probably have a way better time.

I did pull a few SMB off rock piles--see to the right of the beach.

I will be bringing my own float tube and renting a row boat during the afternoon hours. I plan to hike my float tube to silver lake on the east side since it appears to be inaccessible by car and should have less fishing pressure.

I will be camping in kampersville. is that where you were? does any part of the lake have lilies? I want to do some frogging.

what lures did you get the smallies on?

I appreciate the input.

I hiked up to Silver Lake near dusk, but I didn't bring my gear. I wished I had once I got up there. It was gorgeous and no one was there. You actually might have better luck there than on Dunmore. Also, I saw a few canoes just sitting on the Silver Lake shore, you might be able to take one out. You should ask.

I camped at Branbury and fished the Sucker Brook area. I didn't see any lillies. I got the smallies deep on a lipless strike king crank. It was a beautiful day, but not very productive for fishing.

I do not believe there are any bass in Silver Lake. There are some giant rainbows in there though. If you want to fish lily pads the extreme north end of the lake is probably your best bet especially if you are not in a boat. Pretty sure Kampersville is located right on the cove in the northern end of the lake. Another spot worth checking is where the small brook goes under the road at the north end. Dunmore can be real tough. Good luck.

i ended up going to eden lake which was further north. fished a bit and caught lots of pickerel but only 2 smallmouth under 1.5 lbs. spoke to the locals who said the bass are deep and not biting because it is so warm. live and learn. probably better luck in October.
