The more I see of these baits the more I'm intrigued.  For my first glide bait I am not going to spend a load of money so I'm considering the Savage Gear bait, the one around 6 inches in length.

Does anyone have experience with this bait?

What is your overall experience with Glide baits and what makes one better than another? Savage Gear, Megabass, Deps....the savage gear looks good on you tube and looks like a quality bait to me...

Matt Allen has a cool video on different types of retrieves that he uses...very cool...

Thanks guys.

R2Sea S-Waver is a good choice, the LC Real Ayu looks good at $20.

They're really cool, but all my recommendations are probably going to be out of "experimentation phase" price range.  Just get one you can afford, try it out and prepare for the bait monkey to absolutely wreck you sideways haha...  It's a really fun way to fish for sure.  That wide "S" pattern just seems to get hammered and it's fun to watch it come back to the boat as well.

Thanks Tom and Master, I appreciate the info. I've looked at the S-Waver as well.  I don't mind spending money on baits at all but since this is a very new bait for me to experiment with I will try to stay within or under the $30 range.   I'm really looking forward to trying these out and don't know anyone locally that fishes them. Once I get one and hook the first fish on it I know the bait monkey will be whispering to me all the way back to the boat..."nice fish, time to buy more of these...and spend a little more this time cheapo"...

I would take a S-waver over a savage hear any day. They are a much better bait. Also the $20 LC glides swim like crap and a junk so don't waste your money.

Thanks guys..168 S waver is on its way.

The 175's are nice and the new versions swim much better then a OG. The only issue is moisture getting inside the new style baits. It seems to be a common issue but they still catch fish.

I bought the Savage Gear Glide in baby bass. I haven't caught anything on it yet. I know I don't have the right equipment for it, but it doesn't cast well. It tends to helicopter and get the line in the hooks. I'm thinking I'll try it on a MH spinning combo next time.

My problem with it is that it's not going to get as many bites a as a lot of other lures. Do I really want to go and get skunked fishing this the entire time rather than a smaller numbers bait? I'm not sure.

I also bought that little H2O Xpress bluegill swimbait.

Good info, thanks for that. I'm looking forward to the s waver I ordered. I might be getting a smaller bait, deps 115. .wanted a larger and small bait to start with since I've never fished a glide bait before. Not a huge investment and should give me best of both worlds. Disappointed to hear you had a bad experience with Savage Gear glider. It's such a great looking bait and the price is right. ..good luck with th h2o , never picked one up myself. Looks good. You should pick up the U2 gill from mattlures, awesome little bluegill bait..
