Anantha Patel Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 This weekend, I am heading on over to Ocean City, Maryland, for Vacation. Of course, I want to try out shark fishing. Since I am aiming at getting a spiny dogfish with an AG Cardinal S, are their any tips on Ultralight surf fishing? Also, I have something in mind for chumming........ Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 13, 2015 Super User Posted August 13, 2015 I wouldn't use ul for anyhting in the surf, let alone shark. Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 13, 2015 Super User Posted August 13, 2015 I'd like to see the video Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 14, 2015 Super User Posted August 14, 2015 Big diference in fly fishing the surf and a ul set up. The surf is my domain, if a dogfish is that inept of a fighter why would it be a target species? I'm fairly skilled at handling some pretty hefty fish off he beach, i wouldn't use a ul for 5# blufish, let alone some tougher fish lke a juvie tarpon. Quote
MDBowHunter Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Just a heads up, make sure you know your shark species because with all the Sharks that are on the can't catch list here in MD you can easily get yourself in trouble. Some sharks your not supposed to remove from the water and so on. So unless your sure of the species that's on the other end of the line be careful. I believe some of these species to be on the endangered species list, so just be careful. Oh and if asked your not targeting sharks just fish in general. Quote

Doesn't matter if it is usually less than 2 foot long, I want it. I will be using sand fleas, since these guys will eat everything, and I will catch some other interesting species. I know what these sharks look like, since they got spines, glowing green eyes, and flat teeth. Quote
