bassheel Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Im fishing a horny toad alot and want add some weight to my hook. I want to buy a 5/o superline hook and add about a 1/16 to it. Gammy doesnt sell a hook in this size and weight. Its perfect for what Im looking to do with it. I "swim" my toads just below the surface at times and the bass love it. Also with a weight this light I can still buzz it all the while I dont have to worry about it flipping over as much. Any suggestions? Owner doesnt have this size and weight as far as I can tell. I use VMC weighted hook but the quality of Gammy or Owner isnt there. Quote

Super User K_Mac Posted August 12, 2015 Super User Posted August 12, 2015 I usually put a split shot on the hook to add the weight I need. I have been using this technique for wacky rigging for a number of years with good success. Quote
hatrix Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Wrap some suspend strips around it. I have done it before and it works great. Quote
