Super User bigbill Posted August 13, 2015 Super User Posted August 13, 2015 I had a tumor removed in my arm in the surgeons office. He didn't numb it up enough. I jumped at first and said just do it. They were shocked I went through it not completely numbing it. I'm so use to pain. I watched him cut my skin and remove it. Golf ball sized. Sometimes we gotta suck it up and be tough. You should of seen the look on the docs and nurses faces. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 15, 2015 Author Super User Posted August 15, 2015 Planning on fishing today from the bank, not strong enough to tackle the surf but that's where I'd rather go. Quote
Turkey sandwich Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Good luck, and speedy recovery. I have 5 herniated discs from a car accident 2 years ago. I had injections in the cervical as well as nerve eblasions (burning the nerves off the facet joint) and am going in to have my L5-S1 fused on the 31st, so I'll beright there with you recovering. Good luck, and keep mobile the best you can. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 15, 2015 Author Super User Posted August 15, 2015 It's all a process, I have a tumor on L3, lucky for me it's far enough away from my spinal cord. What was done to me was cement to heal my fracture. I had never heard of that, but I discovered it's a common procedure for my situation. I still have lots of pain shooting down my leg. Yesterday I had a consultation with the radiologist (start thearapy Monday) day by day I should feel better so he said. Doc said I was good to go when I felt up to it, I'll fish nice and easy the next few days, won't over do it. Quote

Super User retiredbosn Posted August 15, 2015 Super User Posted August 15, 2015 No longer woozey from the pain meds? Good. Taking those are like dancing with the Devil. If you have to take them longer than a couple of days, cut back the dosage so there is no side effects. Anyone who has chronic debilitating pain will tell u, the pain meds dull pain they don't remove it. Good luck BTW, at L3 there is no chance of spinal cord damage, the actual cord stops around T12-L1, there it becomes divided and individual nerves leave the facet joints, expect some leg symptoms if the pain or numbness starts going around your waist to personal areas get to the ER quickly. Praying for you. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted August 15, 2015 Super User Posted August 15, 2015 Yup, I know to much about the spine problems, etc.. Prayers sent Snook.. Post some pics of those peacocks, Best Wishes.. Quote

Rather than a handicap sticker, you need to find an old retro "Keep On Trucking" bumper sticker! 1 Quote

Super User Fishing Rhino Posted August 17, 2015 Super User Posted August 17, 2015 The fish on your stomping grounds are breathing a sigh of relief. Here's hoping their relief is brief. Take care and best wishes for a speedy recovery. Quote
