stfreed Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Livingston Lures for me. I bought 8 or 10 different models when they first hit the market and I have yet to catch a single fish on them. Most have had their batteries go dead so now they are just plan crankbaits, lipless baits and topwater with no sound. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted November 25, 2015 Super User Posted November 25, 2015 Jerkbaits.....3 years = 1 bass. So yeah, jerkbaits. I can catch them on other things but have a dozen jerkbaits that are in a box I can't catch a fish on. Did I mention I hate jerkbait fishing. 1 Quote

atcoha Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 In general, lipless and square bills. I know, I know whats wrong with me right? Although in all fairness its probably more from lack of fishing them more than anything else. I'm a worm dragger at heart so who knows? I have had success with most rounded style cranks, deep divers and shad raps. I love me some jerk baits too. Go figure. About the same here. I really have not put enough time into crankbait fishing. The swimjigs, spinnerbaits and dragging lizards/worms/creature baits is hard to put down when they work. I am going to make an effort next year to spend some more time with the cranks and see what happens. I did catch some decent ones this past weekend on xd and dt's. Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted November 26, 2015 Author Super User Posted November 26, 2015 I've caught bass (and stripers) on fire tiger at times. Other times I've watched people catch them on shad colors while I couldn't. For a while, I'd buy a crank in chrome/blue or black, natural pattern and fire tiger. I guess they each cover a specific set of conditions: Overcast, sunny and stained water, respectively. We have permanently stained water in most of SC.What's crazy with fire tiger is I have caught fish up here in water you can see bottom in 15 fow on a calm sunny day and in water with 6" of visibility. I think it mimics a little bit pumpkinseed and a bit of perch is why it works so well up here. I always make sure to have one either tied on or on the front deck within easy reach. As far as perch imitations, nobody really gets them right, so that is why I throw fire tiger so much. One of my favorite perch imitation bait is a Rapala minnow in brook trout. 2 Quote
5fishlimit Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Crankbaits in the 10' and deeper variety. Try as I might I just can't get bit. Quote
clh121787 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 DD22, anything in the DT lineup except the DT4 or DT6 although I no longer buy them because of breakage issues, Rapala Rattlin Rap. I had 2 DT 6 break right behind the line tie in the same day. On fish, not rocks or cement. Rapala did sendme new ones. After I called and complained. Quote
Primus Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Depps buzzjet. I have read numerous posts raving about them being so good but mine doesn't catch fish. But I love anything rapala Try it at night Quote
Super User scaleface Posted November 27, 2015 Super User Posted November 27, 2015 I posted That I've never done well with sexy shad color . Cant say that anymore . A month ago I caught a bunch stacked up on the end of a point about 12 foot deep with a deep diving Strike King bait in Sexy Shad . 2 Quote
