Derekbass02 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 A few days ago I caught one on a Wacky rigged Stik-O while reeling it in very fast. I have also 2 pike this year on crappie sized Curly-Tail Grubs with one of them being while trying to catch weeds. Whats the wierdest way you've caught one? Quote
lecisnith Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 My buddy caught a musky on a 3.5" tube earlier this year. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 11, 2015 Global Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Second muskie I ever caught I sight fished with a 1/16oz white crappie jig. Pike will eat anything. I wouldn't be surprised by them eating anything really. My dad had one jump in the boat when it missed his spinnerbait as he lifted it out of the water to make another cast. Quote
Anantha Patel Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I caught a pike, on a 2 inch shad. It was small, though. Quote

Turkey sandwich Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I remember trolling a spoon or crankbait in the boat with my dad fishing for walleye when all hell broke loose. I hooked a 36-40" musky in the tail, and to this day, one of the weirdest fights I've ever had. Getting the hooks out was ridiculous. Treble hooks on one end, and teeth on the other with a whole lot of angry fish in between. I've had musky/pike bite off twister tail grubs on 1/8-1/16 oz jigs fishing for smallmouth. In a bigger river system, you really never know what you're going to catch throwing something as simple as a 3-4" grub. Quote
Neil McCauley Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Really? No one has had a pike eat a bass they were retrieving? I am disappointed. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted August 12, 2015 Super User Posted August 12, 2015 Last summer, I was fishing a river out of my personal pontoon. A smallish pike about 27-28 inches hit my topwater popper. I reeled him all the way back to me between the pontoons, right at my feet, when he swung his head and bit through my braided line. He sat in the water with my popper still in his mouth not realizing he was free just long enough for me to grab him by the back of his head before he could swim off. I got my bait back. I've had pike grab my walleyes, pike grab my other pike, muskies grab my smallmouth and lake trout grab my arctic graying, but I've never had a pike grab a bass. Quote
FinCulture Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 ive caught an invisible pike before, if you know what I mean! Quote
VolFan Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 At Rocky Mointain Arsenal in Denver I was fishing a sluggo for pike and/or bass. I had a pike take a swipe at it and me being me, Bill Danced the hook set. Game on! That pike fought like a bluegill, turning sideways and coming in like a 2x4. Only when I got it to the bank did I notice that the pike missed the hook entirely, and had been lassoed with my braid catching in the bend of the hook, slicing the sluggo in half. I remarked at how lucky I was...my rod broke on the next cast. Quote
