Steven Ladner Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 They look good. The eyes really make them great though. Quote
iHasPistons Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 what is your method to get the scale effect? Quote

Super User .dsaavedra. Posted October 12, 2009 Super User Posted October 12, 2009 are you using rattle cans? i never could be 100% sure from looking at your pics, but i always thought you were. i'm not that good at fitting all those colors on one bait with rattle cans. Quote
Stringjam Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Nice job - - some angry looking cranks you've got there! I like the top color pattern. Quote
jeffcpr Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 They look nice good craftsmanship and I like the mean eyes on the baits. Quote
Fishwhittler Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 Thanks guys. iHasPistons, I use scale mesh to spray the scales. You can find it at jannsnetcraft.com or barlowstackle.com. For the eyes, I use a 1/4" hole punch on some black tape to make the pupils. Then I stick the pupil on a 1/2" circle of tape, cut it in half, trim, and stick it on the lure. You can use colored tape to make the "eyeballs", or you can spray paint white tape any color you like. Most of my painting is done with rattle cans. I used to brush paint all my lures, but I couldn't get the effects I wanted that way so I switched to rattle cans. Ben Quote
