Bluegill, I used four differents greens/gold/copper/violet/pumpkin brown/blues/orange. This one took a lot of layers and I am not sure if its a perfect bluegill, but take 1 didnt turn out aweful, I will do some more and see what I can come up with!

I am still debating cutting them with a saw and making them "jointed" and possibly adding some rattles!

go for it.

rattles may be difficult unless you insert pre-made glass rattles.

Thats what I was thinking, I think the premade rattles would be easier. However maybe I could put a few ceramic bearing in there, bc those would really make some clackin noises!

the problem with making your own rattles is, no matter what kind of bead or BB or bearing you put in there, it will be knocking against wood which will REALLY dull out the sound of it, and it won't make much of a "rattle" more of a "knock". sometimes desirable, not always.

this is why pre-made glass rattles would work, because even though the rattle itself is inside the wood, the actual BB is ticking against glass, making a sharp rattle noise.

you may be able to make your own rattles out of aluminum from a soda can and whatever kind of BB you choose... i've had moderate success doing this.
