I just got into bass fishing in the last couple months.  The first few times I have been out I have been skunked.    I have been reading these forums and soaking up the info.  While this is nothing to brag about I have caught fish everytime I have been out since I have been reading these forums.  Even though I am only catching 2 or 3 with a  best being 6 fish nothing really big either just because this lake is only a year old. Its  just the thrill of getting a bass to attack a lure.  To everyone that posts up about different techniques and different baits to use thank you!  Hopefully I will have a picture worth bragging about soon!

Thanks

James

There are times I only catch 1 so don't feel bad at all about 2 or 3. I go to catch a bass so if it's 1 well I met my goal :)

Number of bass caught in my last 10 trips (3-4 hours each, over the last month): 5, 0, 1, 2, 3, 7, 4, 1, 2, 8

(not counting "bonus" pike and crappie)

I'm happy if I catch one bass, and real happy if it's keeper-sized at all.

Actually, technically, I'm happy regardless of what I catch, or whether I catch anything at all, as long as I got out of the house.

Your amount of catch will pick up with your increase of knowledge here.

A was averaging 9 minimum per outing. But more on other trips. The more baits and presentations we learn the more bass we catch.

I would hammer the how too videos all winter. Before we had videos here. I would be glued to watching infisherman, Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston, dime store fisherman, hank Parker, Jerry McKinnis etc.

Now you guys have the ultimate one stop video learning here. I watch the videos here too now. "Refresh"

Dream it, watch it then go out and live it. Bass fishing is awesome.

Yep, BR is awesome. I can also attest that since visiting the forums and learning all the wisdom these folks on here hand out that my abilities have exponentially grown. That's not to say I don't have tough days, we all do, especially now in the heat of summer, but in an overall sense my proficiency has definitely increased since I started reading the forums. Now I read every day and still learn new things constantly.

It's really the folks around here that make it awesome - and that includes the Mods.

Thanks BR Team

You do learn a lot from these forums, but the best way to learn what the bass like in your neck of the woods is to get out there with all different bait and presentations. So keep applying what you learn to your fishing adventures. tight lines!

That's awesome! There's a lot of info on here and a lots of folks with tons of experience willing to answer questions. I lurked on here for a while before registering when I got back into fishing a few years ago, and this place helped me a lot, too. Also, remember, any problem you're having now, some one (or likely all of us) has had it before, so always feel free to ask.
