Robert Riley Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 What up guys. I'm looking to buy the new Revo Toro S, or splurge and buy a Revo Toro Beast. I know that Abu makes good stuff from experience and since I have a NaCl I use regularly. The Toro S only has 4+1 bearings and the Beast has 7+1 (NaCl has 6+1). Is the Toro S not gonna be that smooth? I've never used a reel with less than 10 (I'm a Lew's addict). The Lew's are a bit smoother than my NaCl, but with only 4+1 am I going to be getting a decent reel? I thought I understood the concept of the bearings, perhaps not. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted August 9, 2015 Super User Posted August 9, 2015 why not just get a Lew's BB2 pro ?? that's what i'm going to replace my Toro 51 with , going to have Lew's put in a 5.1:1 gear set Quote
Jon G Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Abu's have pretty good bearings. The amount of bearings doesn't mean squat. 1 Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Quality bearings is a few key spots are much more important than the count. Tolerances, gears, frame, etc all affect smoothness. 1 Quote
