Stringjam Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 My first try at a pumpkinseed/sunfish type of thing. Quote
BIG M Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 That's a great looking sunfish pattern to me. I personal don't like exact look alike baits. I want a bait with similar coloration but it also needs to stand out from the crowd. Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 7, 2009 Super User Posted October 7, 2009 Looks good, but will it catch bass? Give it a try and let us know. Quote
SnappinTurtle Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Great looking paint job. I like that a lot. Quote

-HAWK- Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Great paint job and awesome photography. What type of camera are you using. Quote
Stringjam Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 Great paint job and awesome photography. What type of camera are you using. It's just a Canon PowerShot A560 The macro-mode does a pretty decent job on these shots, though. Quote
nick76 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 If I remember correctly you are using an automotive top coat. How is it holding up? Or have you gottten bit by the painting bug with no time for fishing? Quote
Stringjam Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 If I remember correctly you are using an automotive top coat. How is it holding up? Or have you gottten bit by the painting bug with no time for fishing? I haven't really had enough time to evaluate durability yet....I've only really been fishing once since I started painting... I was pretty hard on my first bait that day, and I'm happy with the way it held up.........I've finished some wooden baits and that will be a big test for the stuff. Quote
nick76 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Glad to hear that the first bait held up nicely. That clear sure gives the baits some depth. Now you need to put down the airbrush, stand back from the table, and go get your poles so you can beat the tar out of them. Then let us know how they are withstanding the punishment. I will keep my eye on what you think of it. It get's addicting doesn't it!!!! Quote
