I got out for my first trip this year on Sunday from 930 till 400

Fished a public lake in eastern Suffolk.

Water temp was 52 at start and 56 when I left. No sign of any spawning activity where I was.

I did manage to land 17 bass with 3 others coming unbuttoned at boatside.

Most were around 1 lb with a few good ones in the mix.

The largest bass came on a jig/craw - 4 lb 14 oz.

Most came on a shallow crank.

Heres the 4.14

That is insane nice job!

it was ok, we got rained out on the 4th. i went fishing yesterday and only managed one small largemouth on a frog. I went to the same place today i caught a small one on a frog. an even smaller one on a rage craw punching a slop mat and a decent one on a black/blue chatterbait casting along lay downs and logs

Had decent Largemouth and Smallmouth fishing upstate. Probably had about close to 40 fish, most of which were around the 1-2 lb range. Largest fish of the day was probably a 3.5lb - 4lb Smallie on a crank. Also fished a local pond on LI. Did okay with the Largies and ended up with around 10, biggest being probably 3lbs. Caught them flipping brush piles.

Does anyone know about sans souci lakes and lotus lake in bayport? I fish there a lot haven't been having any luck lately. Maybe it's just the heat and its loaded with weeds but has some open water...

Try to target the deepest water possible that has cover. fish in the coolest parts of the day as well

I've been ice fishing up in Sullivan County. Little more than a 2 hr run for me.
