Hey everyone, I just picked up my first a-rig. I'd like a few pointers and tips on when, and where to throw it please.

First of all, The Rig is not very effective this time of year. Best in spring and fall.

I like mine light: outside arms Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG/ LFT Live Magic Shad/ no weight.

Inside arm:  Johnson Silver Minnow.

Fish it anywhere you would fish a deep diving crankbait. My preference is running the

trolling motor at about 1 1/2 mph and long-lining The Rig. Casting is challenging for

Team Depends.

most of you guys are lucky , living in california , we are limited to 3 baits with hooks on them , i would love to fish a big ol' bait ball of about 10 baits !!  :eyebrows:

We here in MO also can only have 3 hooks.  I put willow leaf blades on the other 2.

I attach a small crank to the center arm and run it where I'd be running a deep diving crank in the summer. I can sometimes pick up a finicky fish or to from a school that wouldn't take the DD.

We here in PA are limited to 3 baits, but I fish 5 arm, and even got a couple 7 arm rigs, I just rig the top baits w/o hooks.
