ABLE2DISABLE1 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I will tell you its in your own individual eyes,.Prototypes from all tackle shops come from other peoples designs, or Product. Now Hand-made is a whole new ball game,Pride, of some thing you come up with is the ultimate JOY of fishing. In my eyes, yours is personal. So what if you take Tackle and TWEAK it to your standards, AIRBRUSHING, adding appendages to your PLASTICS, should I go on?Spinner baits modified blades,Frog improvements,WHAT HAVE YA.WE could do this all DAY, and Night.SOOOOOO you TELL me how most of those lures you all are using,HOW were they invented,LASER LURES, way before IKE had improved the design, from flashing in the rear, to a laser pointer in front.SO what is YOUR LURE.Our neighbors could have this IDEA already, and improved it to their DESIRES,for those who do not understand what nonsense I am babbling about, is that we all have IDEAS about making lures, whether they are dreamt up or just recreation from other products as our molds. You get more satisfaction from creating your own LURES,Molds 4 plastics and so on.SO THE QUESTION IS,WHAT IS MAKING a LURE.YOUR EXPLANATION of MAKING a LURE? BobP Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I started making crankbaits as a hobby about 10 yrs ago when I got tired of buying $10 wood baits and having them disintegrate after one trip. Also, there were popular baits I liked EXCEPT I wanted a different action - harder thump, tighter wiggle, different size, color pattern, etc. I don't "invent". I just build cranks from scratch to perform as desired (and that's no mean feat!). Hundreds of baits later, I still have fun building and catching fish on them. Quote
ABLE2DISABLE1 Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 I am 46 and have a lot of info of building lures, messing with plastics, and or tweaking lures from their original form, shape, so on.Ive taken toys apart for molds, electric motors, pull string activated mechanisms, there is no end to INVENTING anything we do.That's the fun part and to watch it work is a plus.My apologies to everyone who has read my post, I can get a bit confusing, babbling like a big kid. Use the check spelling that's on this site and it will help you to get your message across to people. I can tell you have quit a bit of knowledge but if you can't write it so everybody can understand it , it's useless. I am not trying to belittle you , just trying to give you some useful information.
