I have a 7'7" medium regular action tatula rod that I got for a steal. I use it for medium and deep crankbaits but for the most part I haven't needed to use those baits this year. The rod is quality and I feel guilty about it sitting unused.

What other techniques do yall think I could use it for?

light weight t-rigs and Carolina rigs

Only way to know for sure is to try different lures, and see if it works for you.  Not everyone likes to fish the same length rod and same action for a specific technique.  Just ask what action is the best for top water lures and see what answers you get.  :teeth:

If you're 7ft tall it would be a sick jerkbait rod

That taper isn't particularly good for anything but moving baits, spinnerbait and even chatterbaits may be ok but I wouldn't use it for anything you need to feel with and the power isn't enough for a C-rig.

might make a good finnese rod to be used with light line, assuming your talking about a casting rod , i've been thinking of putting together a finesse rod built on a Phenix 7'7'' medium light / fast action blank , would pair it with a Lew's tournament Lite with 8 lb. Sniper ....

It's more of a mh when going by lure ratings. Their regular action is also more of a mod/fast and leaning a bit more towards the fast end.

I have the 7'0 m/r and use it for single hook reaction baits. Mainly because I have other mh rods for bottom contact stuff. I have used it for plastics though. Does fine for me.

You could use it for packing material in that 8ft. tube you were thinking about sending me.  I'll be more than happy to use it for cranking until next year. I'd even pay for the shipping....one way.

I'll consider it joe...for a bit fairer price.

8 foot tubes are expensive now a days....

I thought about bladed baits for it but I'm usually casting to cover and the times I've used this thing with cranks I've had poor accuracy. There are a couple situations where I could use it to gain a few more yards along rip rap and burning heavy spinnerbaits.

There are a couple lakes where I can use the rod to deep crank when fishing alone but my club tends to beat up the banks.

man, I have the glass version of that rod and it shines with any hardbait. I use it for lipless, squarebills, shallow to semi-deep cranks (6xd), Zara spooks, poppers, jerkbaits, spybaits, you name it. I absolutely love that rod! It will never go unused for long.

I haven't used the carbon only version you have, but I do have a reaction rod and it fishes mod-fast. So does my glass one, but the tip is buttery soft.
