I saw Slipknot last Wednesday and it easily was the best one I have ever been to. Amazing. .

Have not caught Slipknot yet...hopefully soon

Hard to pick between front row to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or Mayhem Festival with Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb of God, Rob Zombie, and Korn as the main stage.

These may be beat in Philly this October for Rock Allegiance http://rockallegiance.com/

You have to if you get the chance. They came with Lamb Of God, Bullet for My Valentine, and Motionless in White.. Solid concert all around..

single best?  pretty hard to pick just one.....gun to my head, I'd probably have to settle on Rush Farewell to Kings tour in early '78.

Stiff Little Fingers, 30th anniversary of the release of Inflamable Material, played it start to finish at the Black Cat in DC. Old punk dudes still bring it!!!

hands down best for me was seeing 311 and the roots at Carowinds theme park in Charlotte, NC back in the day.  Poured rain all day and was a pretty small crowd, but both bands absolutely killed it.  seen 311 a dozen times since and never seen a show like that....

that said, seeing Tool would be on the top of my list of things to do....  could imagine that would be a new favorite.

Easy.. Led Zep in 77 Jimmy Page was incredible.

Followed by Bon Scott & ACDC in 78

Metallica in 97

Worst was Hank Jr. He was so drunk.. It became heckled and was awful..

Aerosmith was standout in 76 paid a buck & .2 cents to see.. Very good show.. There are many I've seen, those are the ones that stand out to me.

I've always wanted to see billy currington in concert... He came to my home town but I couldn't go and missed it :( maybe he will come back around here sometime. I believe he has one in Jacksonville coming up.

Never been to a concert BTW.

Funny.  I saw them on the Rocks tour in '76 and it was easily the worst concert I ever saw.  I paid almost $9, IIRC.  Tyler was so wasted, I never understood a single word he sang.  The opening act, Starz was better.

Haha.. I'm not surprised, the low ticket price was courtesy of a louisville radio station wlrs 102 fm

But tickets were still cheap around here. Kiss was at the top of their game in 78 & opened up with the aforementioned acdc ( Bon Scott ) and the ticket was $5.50 ( reserved seating ) ( which was nearly unheard of for concerts ) I did pay $20 for the Zep tickets, of course those were scalped prices too.. Now Van Halen, sheesh those guys were lushes.. Major whisky drinkers on stage, bass player & Eddie, saw them 2 times with Roth, once with Sammy ( Sammy show was best )

I saw them in the '80s in DC ( or was it Indianapolis?) and Tyler and Perry were both a mess.  The fans started heckling, then Tyler spit into the crowd.  They had to leave the stage in a hurry when the bottles and debris started raining down on them!  The opening act was Sammy Hagar on his "Three Lock Box" tour...  absolutely outstanding.

My favorite concert was not one of the many rock shows I saw over the years, but a jazz performance.  It was David Sanborn performing on his birthday at the Starlight Theater in Latham, NY (in the round; rotating stage) in the '90s.  Ironically, I saw Sanborn several years later at the then newly-renovated Palace Theater in Albany, NY and he was horrible...  worst concert I've seen!

Best concert and worst concert: same band.

Tight lines,

Bob

John Mellancamp>It was about 1994 at the Bluebird in Bloomington, IN.  It only holds a handful of people. He played, talked to everybody and just had fun.

Kiss might be another one.  It was the Psycho Circus Tour.  They were awesome.

I followed the Dead on the east coast leg of their 1990 tour. By far the best experience of any concert(s) I have attended.

3 doors down with staind (my favorite group) breaking Benjamin (also my favorite group) and no address. My first concert left an impact.

Tough call, probably have to go with War or Earth Wind and Fire at a stadium.

Saw the Hooked on Phonics at an outdoor amphitheater with a lazer light show, at the time there were shooting stars in the sky, pretty cool.

Sinatra in Las Vegas, enough said.

I've seen a lot of really cool shows, so picking one is hard.

Most recently awesome - Soundgarden reunion tour at the Tower Theater. I had pit tickets, 10 feet from the stage and they played over 3 1/2 hours straight

Huge and awesome - I was at Rock the Bells in 2007 (I think?) on Randal's Island off Manhattan for the Roots, Common/Mos Def/Blackstar, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang, and Rage Against the Machine. It was incredible - and one of the most exhausting days ever. 100 degree heat and a 70,000 person mosh pit.

Allman Bros a ton of times

John Scofield in a tiny club and got a chance to hang out with him for a bit after (I played that same small club with friends, so it was a cool "in")

I saw Wayne Shorter with Herbie Hamcock

I saw moe. at a show that was released as a live album back in 2000 or so.

Primus - played Sailing the Seas of Cheese or Brown album (can't remember anymore) straight through

The Flaming Lips - headlined some weird free festival sponsored by Southern Comfort (also free somehow) on the pier here in Philly

Roots/Medeski, Martin, and Wood/311 on the same bill

I saw the Black Crowes at a secret/warm up concert before their reunion tour (2004?) billed as "Mr Crowes Garden"

Ridiculiculous - My company has had Snoop Dogg, Sublime w/Rome, and LL Cool J perform at our last few holiday parties.

I sat 4' from John Scofield as he played in a tiny club.

I went to my first concert this year at 64yo.

The Moody Blues were awesome. I enjoyed it. There drummer is 74yo.

My misses got me the tickets for Christmas.

One more thing off my bucket list.

Hank Williams Jr. 1989 in Greensboro, NC.  He was not drunk and gave a good concert.    Alabama in 1988 was good.   This past November we saw the Trans Siberian Orchestra in Raleigh, NC  and that was very good.  It was a Christmas show and the performances were great.   Great laser show also.

I say it's a toss up between Seether in Salt lake city and Alter bridge in Spokane for me. Both were great. My girlfriend surprised me with vip tickets to the Alter Bridge concert. It was a great show and they were great guys to meet.
