Super User .dsaavedra. Posted October 3, 2009 Super User Posted October 3, 2009 my first repaints with my new airbrush. lots of room for improvement. i wish both of these didnt come out as dark. i think next time i will use a white primer instead of black. i used black on thse because i thought the metallic silver base color would show up better on black. i also have to work on getting consistent with using a comb as a stencil (second lure). the stripes came out dark and defined on one side and pale on the other. anyway here are the pics. top lure is first attempt at a bluegill (tape stripes). i sprayed the colors way too thick and they're kind of overpowering of the more subtle colors. bottom lure is my second attempt which i like a lot better, wish it wasn't as dark though. i also need to work on gills. these look pretty sloppy. Steven Ladner Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Not bad at all with the new airbrush. Those look great. I really like the second one the way the stripes are. Quote
BIG M Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Don't be so hard on yourself, those baits look just fine. A different look in the water may be just the ticket. You best look for a different clear coat to protect your hard work. If ilove2fish says it's not any good then that is as good as gets. Dude knows his stuff. Quote

Dude knows his stuff. thanks! i like the baits (really i only like the bottom one) but they could be way better! good paintjobs will come in time i guess i've been using this clear off a recomendation from two people who have been using it for a long time without any problems, and idlov2fish is the first person to post about issues with it, so i guess i'll just have to see for myself then! ;D Quote

Super User Sam Posted October 4, 2009 Super User Posted October 4, 2009 They look OK. You will get better as you get used to the new airbrush. Now, go out and fish them. Quote
