I like the look of EVA more, as far as feel, I've never handled a cork rod. The ones I've handled were all wrapped in plastic. Still do love the look of cork though.

I've been using cork for so long I can't get use to the EVA. I've tried more than once.

i like eva but have some cork too the big thing for me is i don't like full handles so it really doesn't matter the material

I'm with you, cork all the way for me. Have tried Eva a few times and always dumped the rods. I'm done trying and sticking to cork. Is that an Avid handle I see in that picture?

I had a local builder install the cork grip and black butt for me. It's on my Lews Rod which was an EVA split grip. I do have an Avid though.. Love it.

I like them better than split grips.. I do have three split grip rods that I like very much.

^^ Good times. All my customs have full length Eva. Most cork is shotty, plus it requires more maintenance to keep looking nice imo. Some people like the appearance of stained, dirty cork. Not me. I prefer the feel of Eva, plus cleaning is a breeze. Baby wipe and a little soap and done deal. Just don't let it cool in the sun for hours on end so it doesn't fade. Makes the rod look clean and stealth. I wouldn't put cork colored wheels on my car. Just saying

Sorry was referring to another rod grip visible in the photo that looks like ask avid grip.

May be in the minority here, but I own both and I really don't care.

As long as they fit my hand and comfortable enough to fish all day, I don't have a preference either way.

I am a huge fan of cork but the air foam on my steez is very nice.  Its a little different  Than other eva i have handled and did not like.  I would choose a full carbon handle over eva and cork is still number one.

i really don't care for cork and deffinitely don't care for full grips , i have all my rods built with minimal EVA rear grip and an EVA tapered butt cap .

three of my rods from left to right -

Phenix m1 7'8'' spinning rod - 16'' rear handle

Rainshadow 7'10'' XMB 944.5 - 16'' rear handle

St.Croix 9' Big Nasty - 18'' rear handle

Yeah those would definetly not be for me.

I enjoy how cork looks as long as it's high quality like on my dx. Seems most cork grips are fairly pitted like the one pictured though. I'd have to spend a few days with some filler and sand paper on it. I own both Eva and cork grips. It really doesn't make a difference to me. I do prefer split grips normally.

Im with Mike L it never made a difference to me. cork, eva full or split

Fresh cork feels great but over time it shines up and can get kind of gnarly.  EVA I like because it's consistent from one rod to the next and comfortable.  I'm really curious about these new Winn Grip handles...I've used them on golf clubs and the grip/comfort they provide is off the charts.  Just waiting for the right rod/deal to come by to give them a shot.

It doesn't mater to me eva or cork.  On split grips just make the grip longer.  Loomis can?  Powel can?  Why cant st Croix or shimano or a host of others cant?  This has influenced what rods I buy. Either full grip or on split grips that are longer.

that why i only fish with custom rods , i couldn't find a rod with a handle i like , especially in swimbait rods , all their handles were too short ! that why i love St.Croix , Phenix , Batson/Rainshadow , etc .. who offer blanks to build on so you get a rod that is just what YOU want ...
