So I've been hearing good things about them but besides the Winn grip, how do they compare to other rods in that price range ( veritas, carrot stick, compre, ghost, mojo, and others) in terms of sensitivety, and weight? I held a few at the store the balance was okay, some of them had guides that were off alignment. But since they do go on sale a lot I'm just curious. Need to replace my old ugly stick I use for hybrids and light catfish fishing.

They are great rods, I have 5 of them. I wouldn't pay full price for them though, get them when they are on sale. I got all mine when they were $59!

I got my dad one a few Christmas's ago and I almost picked up one for myself. I fished it a little and it is very light weight and sensitive. Obviously everyone has there own feel for what they want in a rod but I think you'll be happy with it. I would play around with the ghost and Veritas in store and see if you like the feel of those too.

Hope this helps!

Also I'm not sure if you've taken a look at the new Carbonlite rods, but from what I could tell in the store and what I've heard that are great rods for $100. I would check those out as well

My opinion is...for what you can get these rods for on sale, you won't do any better.  I have 2 that I use and really like them, especially for what I paid for them.

I have 6 of them. Five casting and one spinning. I love them. At $60 on sale they can't be beat. I used to keep 4 *** Blacks in my rod locker and couldn't get over the reel seat. The ZX is perfect.
